Observations about various pop singles of 2009
Ciara's 'Love Sex Magic' is great. It's helped massively by having JT do his usual thing of just looking a bit cool in the background, saying the artistes name over and over, whilst being sanded down by the repetitive movements of an attractive girls bottom. Her new song 'Work' is less good on initial viewing, despite using Missy Elliott in her now customary role of rapping in the gap between the second verse and last two choruses.
Calvin Harris's "I'm not alone" makes me want to be 17 again. Or at least know somewhere where they play this song VERY loudly on a weekly basis.
La Roux is the daughter of that woman from The Bill. And her new video makes it look like she lives in the Tron mainframe. And once in your head, "Bulletproof" somehow pops out via a low 'humming' rendition in every vacuous moment that fills your day.
That Killers song 'Human' is the first thing they've ever done that I quite like. So well done them.
Little Boots is totally ok, but not really everything they hyped her up to be? Though the fact she looks like a cross between the lead singers of Dubstar and Saint Etienne means I love her a little unhealthily anyhow.
Lastly, 'Circus' by Britney might be the best thing ever recorded for future generations to enjoy.
