I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. I'm just not hungry for a blur reunion as I grew up with all of this music and it doesn't seem distant enough to me to warent a comming back.

My opinion, and all but sorry, I had to leave the room. They could barely play. It's only cos I know the melodies were there that I could "hear" them. Albarn just shouts. Ironically, seeing as they were in (a somewhat media constructed) competition with Oasis for so many years, that was one of the most horribly ladish things I've seen for some time.

I am now listening to Xiu Xiu to bring myself back to some kind of equilibrium.

If Jo Whiley likes something it's guaranteed to be shit. I have to turn the mute on whenever Zane Lowe talks, the most annoying voice, vocal delivery, opinions, presenter ever.

I still enjoyed it, but it wasn't triumphant. And I'd been looking forward to it quite a bit. Nice that they played Country House though despite Graham apparently hating it.

They seem like a band that get unreasonably mocked. I wasn't even really alive when they were properly famous but listening to God Fodder recently I have found it to be consistently excellent. Maybe you had to be around at the time...

and it was absolutely fucking amazing. I shook Albarns hand, twice, and Coxon did a forward roll whilst playing the guitar solo in Popscene. Also they did two encores and played Advert and Oily Water. I haven't seen the Glastonbury gig though, it's recorded, doubt it will be as good as Thursdays gig like.

I thought they were fucking ace. Albarn seemed like he was loving it and giving it some right welly. Shame it got cut off half way thru... wish I'd gone now ;-(

It always amazes me when people can't tell a good performance from a bad one. Blur absolutely nailed it last night and were obviously having the time of their lives, particularly moving bearing in mind the band's falling out in the past. If you don't like Blur's music than fair enough but you gotta give it to em, they put their heart and soul into it. When I read criticisms like those above I just imagine a load of wannabe musicians in their bedrooms dreaming that they could be on stage at Glastonbury for just a minute. But they never will be and they know it. So instead they make a dumb comment about how crap they were on an internet messageboard and it feels like some small victory, but it's actually SO insignificant. The whole band will be so buzzing after that closing show and so they should. Yeah and f*ck Zane Lowe. I wanted to see This is a Low.

I'm glad i saw them in the relative confines of the Newcastle Academy though as there'll always be something lost in the perfromance of a band like blur at a massive outdoor gig. Sill amazing though by all accounts.

but it's like with The Boss, even if you don't like him you couldn't say that was a bad performance. Depends what constitutes a bad performance, I mean they were tight as f*ck, played all the hits with gusto and Damon jumped around a lot and still managed to sing. What's not to like? Are people deaf or what? they hit it! and to accuse them of being laddish? Well that is Damon's image and that's what made them appeal to the pogo-ing masses. That is their brilliance I think, laddish, unpretentious lager swigging energy but with wonderful musical intricacies from Graham teamed with fantastic songwriting. They were always onto a winner.

Tender, For Tomorrow, End of A Century, Song 2, Universal, Tracy Jacks all sounded like they should, and the band really looked up for it. How pissed was Albarn though?

everyone who was actually there will admit it. i don't even like them that much but they were really memorable. judging tv performances is silly

if you'd been there you would know. they were phenomenal. alex james is incredible, too. never really appreciated how good he actually is

I don't think they could have made it any better... Yes some it was laddish but Tender and To the End where truly moving

they were absolutely amazing. One of the best gigs i've seen. Tender was beautiful

I really enjoyed every second of it, both the band and crowd displayed great energy in what was a really fun and great set list. The double encore was awesome

Blur won Glastonbury. Tender was the anthem of the festival. On record, Tender isn't that great. Last night it was that great. The whole site was singing it for hours afterwards. They were really amazing.

I'm still drunk and tired, been up since 4am so you'll have to forgive me if my criticism isn't at its most incisive at this juncture. But yeah, Blur were ace, so there.
