SLOATH //
Monstrously heavy doom 'supergroup' from the South.
Featuring current / past members of Charlottefield, I'm Being Good, Joeyfat, Shit And Shine, Headquarters, Phil Collins 3, Blue House and more, Sloath are a 5 piece doom band in the richest sense of the word, akin to Boris, Sourvein, Burning Witch and Noothgrush, their a skull-to-the-floor headbanging monster of a band.
SONGS OF OUR LAP //
In completely contrast, Alex Hancock is the cooling summers stream to Sloaths raging Tsunami.
Having recently become a two piece, with the addition of a celloist, Songs Of My Lap are gentle passages of guitar, with the overlayed vocals of Hancock cooing gently over the top. His presence as a solo artist is undeniable, and with the addition of the subtle overlays of the cello, it's going to be a case of the calm before the storm...
ELKS //
Elks are the kind of band half of Dischord records wanted to be, but just werent good enough.
We fret to use the word 'catchy', but it's unavoidable. Their 'catchy' in the way that Sammy Davis Jnr was rumoured to be a Satanist. It's there, and people know it is, but there's so much else going on with them, it's purely a side note. These guys go from 'catchy' emo math rock jutterings to ridiculous rock outs in the blink of an eye. Name check Moving Units, Murder City Devils, Glassjaw and Cave In-circa 'Jupiter'. Yes Please!
EVERYONE TO THE ANDERSON //
We've seen these boys countless times, and we promise you, we've never seen them play a bad set, blowing several bigger label bands off the stage and back to their mansions made of Gold... Pricks.
Think Fugazi, Do Make Say Think, JR Ewing, Q And Not U and so on and your tickling the right toes. These boys will lull you in to a false sense of awareness with their ambient passages and smart little rhythms, before stamping on your chest (demanding your lunch money) and kicking out epic, heavy and damn ridiculous riffs. It's thinking mans hardcore, for people with a BTEC national diploma (C* average and above only) in noise rock...
Solid.
Let us know your coming.
