Save 120 Minutes!
This is a petition aiming to save the MTV2 show 120 Minutes from being axed. 120 Minutes is a 2 hour slot showcasing underground/eclectic/truly alternative music videos from the past and present. At present, there are no alternative outlets on TV avaliable for the vast majority of the music videos aired on 120 Minutes if the show is cancelled.
From www.mtv.co.uk/channel/mtv2/shows/04122007/389571/mtv_two_120_minutes:
"120 Minutes shows the videos that don’t get shown, everyday from 1am...
120 MINUTES shows the videos that don’t get shown. It doesn’t do genres. Unless you count electronica, noise, obscurities, alt-rock, art-rock, grime, wonky beats, post-rock, post-punk, post-school, electro, leftfield folk and woozecore.
120 Minutes explores the musical undergrowth, showcasing challenging new music from across the globe for insomniacs. It also pays homage to inspiring independent record labels and video directors as well as the innovators of alternative music - from Devo, Sonic Youth and Frank Zappa to Aphex Twin, Pavement and Kraftwerk."
Please sign this petition to show your support towards 120 Minutes and the vast array of artists that need the airtime, and ultimately for the discerning music lover!
