well yes, but so very much more, also the finest blues rock band of the late 60s/early 70s.
if it hadn't been for ill health and personal disputes they probably could've made the big break they needed to be looked back on along with the usual 'classic' suspects.
paul rodgers had an incredible soulful voice
kosoff played great guitar
the bass player was only a teenager
and the drummer didn't need fancy arm flailing keith moon gooning about to get the job done
AND they didn't fill their albums with reworkings of standards like some others greats started out doing
