what does the proliferation of digitalised music mean for us?
ie. the death of the cd and corporeal music forms.
My opinion is that as downloading as a method of consumption increases, we will begin to lose our relationship with music as it should be.
I know that 'owning' some songs on a computer will never be as satisfying and real as owning a CD or vinyl, but will kids in 10 years time?
I can see a dark future where second hand record shops sell battered old copies of 'lost' records for vast sums, album liner notes go for small fortunes on ebay and music consumption will barely be recognisable with what we have today as kids type their parents card details into the computer and a new 'album' disappears onto their ipod shuffle.
