Why is 'guitar music' carrying on so long this time?
Every decade, the 'alternative' thing being in fashion seems to last for about 5 years at the very most (like punk or britpop for example).
But if you gague the current boring one's 'mainstream' (sorry) coverage as, say, from when Vodafone started using 'Bohemian Like You' and 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl' on their adverts to now, its already over five years.
Unlike guitar music in the past though, this one seems to be getting stronger. This is made very obvious when ITV2 start devoting airtime to festivals.
I'm not criticising the corporations for corporating my precious kind of corporation-free music one bit. Rather, I'm wondering how long you think its going to last.
