Or maybe not. I read some stuff cos im bored, not because i care. Being as i have sweet fuck all to do tonight and the person who i was meant to be going out with tonight has had to bail on me im currently bored and hence reading threads about oasis. Its not because i care.

For an analogy, if im short of time then when i read the sports pages of a paper i only read the bits about my team, if i've got time to kill then i'll read all of it. Doesnt mean that i care about all the other teams...

More people on DiS like Radiohead and At The Drive-In than like Oasis.

Because you don't seem to be able to do anything else other than slate other bands in order to make Oasis look better. I haven't been on DiS that long and I already know you as the one who loves Oasis.

I liked oasis at age 14/15 before I'd really had a chance to get into much other music, when they were the current big thing.

I still acknoledge that their first couple of albums are reasonably good for what they are, although no longer the sort of thing I enjoy listening to, and haven't been for a long time. The albums since then have seemed like tired rehashes of earlier material that, in retrospect, was hardly groundbreaking to start with.

You like them. Most of us don't, for various reasons. Fine. So what. This is totally not because the dislikers are somehow choosing not to like them because they're 'not supposed to' or because they're trying to be cool or something. Don't flatter yourself and your tastes. I suspect most people no longer rate them because they got tired of them, especially since their recent material, because people's tastes matured and developed since the britpop era. People moved on.

Once again we have this sour grapes from lovers of bands that are now widely considered a bit tired/boring. You want to believe it's because the 'indie snobs' are picking on you and your bands for the sake of it, but that's a silly inference to make. People change people grow up people's music tastes develop. People become exposed to wider influences and a wider variety and quality of music and their tastes change.

I think Oasis should've broken up before they got really tired. Would've saved this tired discussions from having to happen, and left them with a bit of dignity intact.

Fuck you guys are obsessed - could you not just list your fave albums and if you dislike Oasis just ignore it - why is there this need to continually slag them off and the people who like them, you people have issues!
