"The New Kate Nash"
This is a tag that's being thrown about easily at the moment, isn't it? I kind of wonder whether any female singer-songwriter trying to establish their own take on the acoustic-led thing is going to be given a fair hearing and not just lumped in with that tag in the same way KT Tunstall was for a short while The New Dido, because there's not a lot of connection between Nash (and by extension Lily Allen, The Old Kate Nash) and your Marling/Emmy/Laura Groves - hell, even George Pringle got named as a potential New Kate in Q.
This is, of course, unless you sound like you've heard a Dusty Springfield record in your life, in which case you are The New Amy Winehouse (Adele, Duffy).
