Members past and present have also had turns in The Promise Ring, The Dismemberment Plan, Cap'n Jazz and Decibully.
Their music is grown up indie pop... the sort of thing bands like Nada Surf are putting out these days. Nagging guitar lines, sweet synths and interesting lyrics delivered in a heart-tuggingly warm rasp.
They have had three albums - Glass Floor (2004, 7.7 average on Metacritic); We, The Vehicles (2006, 8.7 average on Metacritic) and last year's Heresy & The Hotel Choir (7.1 on Pitchfork).
I love them.
