JAG fest!
Am I allowed to 'JAG' my music here? Do you want to jag your music in this post too so I don't feel so bloody awkward about me doing so?
Come on, I want to hear your noise! Link me up!
I'll start... Excuse me if I get a bit music journo, I've got to describe to entice, etc. SUPERLATIVE! SUPERLATIVE!
I make messy but charming (?) bargain basement eccentric electro as Sir Rowley Regis, http://www.myspace.com/sirrowleyregis
Haydn's Pussycat Magazine turns Thelonious Monk and 1960s yé-yé samples into noisy drones backed by a Magazine breakbeat that doubles up and stutters all over the place.
Brute the Force is fast bleepy drum and bass goodness build almost entirely out of c64 SID percussion samples (and some 808 hi-hats), simple "bangin'" fun!
Cut the Power is the inevitable outcome of my obsession this year with appegiated electro, from a simple enough fade in start to increasingly messy overlapping layers of 8-bit tones. Percussion builds and snakes in and out the mix- or at least it will do, this is work in progress, hence the abrupt ending half way through.
Sunnyside Strider is another electro-influenced track with a big dumb beat to draw you in and some nice arpeggiated chords to sooth your ears. Deerhoof samples cross paths with some of the best video games of the early 90s before slinking into some minimal outro thing that probably needs re-doing before I put together a new E.P.
Fruit and Son of Rave Monster are old tracks that document particular obsessions with sampling George Romero films, Oneida, Philip Glass and Silver Apples over cheap syncopated beats!
NOW YOU SHOW AND TELL!
