Car 67 - Driver 67
Does anybody else know this piece of 70's novelty weirdness?
A folk song with a Midlands taxi driver voicing a monologue in between verses about not wanting 'do the pick-up at number 83'. It has a dodgy sax outro tacked on the end, a plodding beat and the afore-mentioned ropey spoken bits - it should be the worst thing in the world (and it probably is), but it's kind of charming.
Apparently Belle & Sebastian have done a cover of it. Surely someone else has heard this thing?
