if you were going to make an "introduction to" CD of your favourite band
what would you put on it?
The CD must be no more than 10 tracks long. You can either put on your 10 personal favourites or the 10 tracks that you think would get someone into this band who had no prior knowledge of them.
I'll have a moment to think about this and then post mine below.

Haha it's funny I say that because I love that song, and album. But 'Clouds', 'Bulletin', 'Transmissions', and 'Future Head' are by far better.
trying to avoid any of those ones, and I don't know any stuff pre-1995

I've been compiling an of Montreal one for a wee while
I set myself some rules like 2 tracks maximum per album, 1 if possible, cover all albums and EPs. Have some sensible running order. It's tough. 16 tracks at the moment to whittle down.
My last one was pre-Deflated Chime, so I'll post the new tracklist soon.
mogwai
1. punk rock
2. sine wave
3. hunted by a freak
4. superheroes of BMX
5. tracy

8. Ex Cowboy
9. Stop Coming To My House
10. Like Herod
post the Of Montreal one please
Done, see bottom
Thankyou :D
that would be so tough for...
It would be like all Coquelicot songs and then a couple Gay Parade ones.
Super Furry Animals
Volume 1: Songs I think someone SHOULD like:
1 Ice Hockey Hair
2 Dacw Hi
3 Chubacabras
4 Neo Consumer
5 Down a Different River
6 Hometown Unicorn
7 Arnofio / Glo in the Dark
8 Pam V
9 Frequency
10 Mountain People
Volume 2: Songs they probably already like but don't know it yet:
1 Something 4 the Weekend
2 Northern Lites
3 Hermann Loves Pauline
4 Do or Die
5 Golden Retriever
6 (Drawing) Rings Around the World
7 Hello Sunshine
8 If You Don't Want Me to Destroy You
9 Demons
10 The Man Don't Give a Fuck
volume 2 is SOLID GOLD
Still can't find
Mwng! And it's too expensive online!
SFA again...
Picking one track from each album, kind of....
1. God Show me magic (EP - Version, Fuzzy Logic's production sucks)
2. Mountain People (Radiator)
3. Ice Hockey Hair (IHH EP)
4. Arnofio / Glo in the Dark (Outspaced)
3. Something comes from nothing (Guerrila)
5. "Gwreiddiau Dwfn" / "Mawrth Oer Ar y Blaned Neifion (Mwng)
6. Tradewinds (Rings around the world B-Side)
7. Slow Life (Phantom Power)
8. Frequency (Love Kraft)
9. Into the night (Hey Venus)
10. Cardiff in the Sun (Dark Days/Light Years)
A novel method of cheating
on the ten tracks thing is to have the same track numbers more than once. I applaud your efforts!
Picking a SFA introduction is pretty easy, it's all good.
Red House Painters
01 - Grace Cathedral Park
02 - Japanese to English
03 - katy Song
04 - Mistress
05 - Down Through
06 - Take Me Out
07 - New Jersey
08 - Rollercoaster
09 - Strawberry Hill
10 - Mistress (piano)
This was tough to do, but flows perfectly and is ideal length/pace for a newcomer. I decided to stay away from later stuff as the production is so different that it wouldn't feel like one album. I urge people who haven't heard them to get hold of these tracks and sod em in this order!
I don't have a favourite band
but if I was to make an introduction to The Verve:
1. Gravity Grave
2. A Man Called Sun
3. Star Sail
4. Already There
5. The Sun, The Sea,
6. Butterfly
7. This Is Music
8. (Reprise)
9. Bittersweet Symphony
10. Catching The Butterfly
HISTORY?
Fo' serious?
At 10 tracks most of it's going to come from the songs pre-'A Northern Soul'. I really couldn't care less about them past that.
Let's give Pixies a go
Debaser
Levitate Me
Gouge Away
Is She Weird
River Euphrates
U-Mass
Monkey Gone To Heaven
Wave Of Mutilation
Gigantic
No.13 Baby
I know Where is my mind is obvious
but come on!
seriously
open or close with it.
Alright, alright
Dump River Euphrates and put it in first, even if it does then look even more like the most obvious ten selections. Nobody said this was going to be an easy task.
There's not enough Bossanova and Trompe le Monde in there
I'd go for:
The Happening
Letter to Memphis
The Sad Punk
Motorway to Roswell
Oh My Golly!
Hey
Gouge Away
Ed is Dead
Alec Eiffel
Where Is My Mind?
Trompe Le Monde ftw.
my Pixies list
where is my mind?
bone machine
head on
motorway to roswell
is she weird (peel session version)
tame
hey
nimrod's son
rock music
subbacultcha
I disagree with these fools
River Euphrates is way better than Where Is My Mind which just sounds like big money to me at this point and is easily their least interesting song. I would've stood with your original position (but no "Hey"?)
my Pixies list
Here Comes Your Man
Debaser
Is She Weird?
Dead
Something Against You
Nimrod's Son
Holiday Song
Bone Machine
Caribou
Hey
No
Here Comes Your Man?
No. 13 Baby, the forgotten Pixies jem.
SFA ok, SFA ok
01 - Ice Hockey Hair
02 - Sidewalk Serfer Girl
03 - Hermann Loves Pauline
04 - Arnofio Glo In The Dark
05 - Some Things Come From Nothing
06 - Slow Life
07 - She's Got Spies
08 - Atomik Lust
09 - Run! Christian, Run!
10 - The Man Don't Give A Fuck (live)
o
sweet one
You win this thread.
Tthere isn't really much point in doing an introduction to the Beatles CD, is there?
However, if my friend had been living on the moon for 45 years they'd get:
1. Hard days night
2. Happiness is a warm gun
3. Hey bulldog
4. Hello goodbye
5. Magical Mystery Tour
6. I'm so tired
7. I need you
8. Something
9. For no one
10. A day in the life
anything by the Beatles
that involves the word "Something" and not the words "Eleanor", "Strawberry" and "Penny" is an instant fail.
Well, sometimes you've gotta spread your bets
They've been living on the moon for 45 years so don't really have much to compare it with other than NASA sanctioned patriot rock.
Penny Lane
is shit.
But you are right about Strawberry Fields Forever and Eleanor Rigby.
how can you even say that
Seriously. How the shit is Penny Lane, shit.
Ok, shit was a bit harsh
But I think it's just another maudlin McCartney pop song, vapid and uninspiring compared to Strawberry Fields Forever, and not a patch on anything from Revolver/Sgt. Pepper.
Another Beatles one then
I Saw Her Standing There
Ticket to Ride
Things We Said Today
Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)
Rain
Love You To
Here, There and Everywhere
Strawberry Fields Forever
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
I Want You (She's So Heavy)
I'll have a go at a Beatles one...
Hello, Goodbye
Eight Days a Week
For No One
We Can Work it Out
Ticket to Ride
Across the Universe
Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)
Eleanor Rigby
With a Little Help From My Friends
A Day in the Life
bright eyes
sunrise sunset
oh you are the roots...
the calander hung itself
messenger birds song
poison oak
loose leaves
waste of paint
the difference in the shades
a song to pass the time
lets not shit ourselves
Mine would be a little different...
01. The Big Picture
02. Haligh, Haligh, A Lie, Haligh
03. When The President Talk To God
04. I Believe In Symmetry
05. Landlocked Blues
06. Hit The Switch
07. If The Brakeman Turns My Way
08. Something Vague
09. Don't Know When But A Day Is Gonna Come
10. Lets Not Shit Ourselves (To Love And To Be Loved)
I've not really listened to Letting Of The Happiness.
It would have to run like this;
01. When the President Talks to God
02. The Calendar Hung Itself
03. Gold Mine Gutted
04. Drunk Kid Catholic
05. Lover I Dont Have to Love
06. Padraic My Prince
07. Sunrise Sunset
08. Travelling Song
09. Nothing Gets Crossed Out
10. Easy/Lucky/Free
No debate... end of...
i'm sure ive seen him play that set, in that order

8. What A Waster
9. The Delaney

9) A Wolf At The Door
10) Street Spirit (Fade Out)
Although I might replace one of the HttT tracks with another, Sail to the Moon.
Christ alive, I've tried Radiohead
so many times. It's very very hard to do an introduction for someone. I've come to the conclusion that it could only be accomplished with two cd's; one more guitar based, and one experimental.
A second CD would be easy...
...that 10-tracker = a little scattered, but a pick from every pot, save the really bad early stuff (Banana Co my one nod to pre-Bends era).
Exactly what I did
makes it sooo much easier. I throw in a couple of slightly less experimental ones into the more experimental cd to make it a little more palatable for the beginner.
Not saying yours is shit
btw
An introduction?

OF MONTREAL
As mentioned earlier, been working on this for a while, introducing friends, etc. Rule was to try and cover all albums and EPs, one track from each.
To make it ten tracks, lose the ones with asterisks. Fingers crossed I can get David Barnes to do me some artwork at some point.
1. Penelope (Coquelicot)
2. Cast In The Haze (Been There For Days) [Big Oil] *
3. Gronlandic Edit [Hissing Fauna]
4. Forecast Fascist Future [Sunlandic]

6. I Felt Like Smashing My Head Through A Clear Glass Window [Rabbit's Flower]
7. Miss Blonde Your Papa Is Failing [Icons]
8. Ira's Brief Life As A Spider [Horse & Elephant]

15. The Past Is A Grotesque Animal (Spinner.com Acoustic Version) [Fauna]
16. The Repudiated Immortals [Sunlandic] (As it's the greatest song by anyone ever)

10 - Rrrrrrright
That was so bleedin' difficult :'(
The last time I made a Deerhoof best of for a friend it had 23 tracks. And I've missed loads of pre-Apple O' songs. But those would have to go on another volume.
Its a good effort though
I don't think my own deerhoof list would vary much from that.
Yo La Tengo
1. The River of Water
2. Sugarcube
3. The Room Got Heavy
4. The Whole of the Law
5. Stay Away From Heaven
6. Tom Courtenay
7. Season of the Shark
8. Cherry Chapstick
9. I Heard You Looking

3. Sugarcube
4. Big Day Coming
5. Today Is The Day (EP Version)
6. Tears Are In Your Eyes

No 'We're an American Band'?
I want that playing at my funeral as I burn. Oh, sorry that's a different thread.

The Shins, not my favourite band but hey:
Kissing The Lipless
New Slang
So Says I
Sea Legs
Mine's Not A High Horse
Australia
Fighting In A Sack
Know Your Onion
Phantom Limb
Spaghnum Esplanade
How
can you leave out Caring Is Creepy? Otherwise, that list is good.
I second that
and where is Turn A Sqaure?

You just described
what I listen to every night before bed. And it's my bed time now, I think I'll queue those up...

9. Camouflage, Camouflage
10. Giant Swan
toooootally needs 'Siamese Gun' in there
And really, if it's an 'introduction' to the band, 'Ambulance Vs. Ambulance' too but otherwise, ace work.
Rats And Rats And Rats For Candy
and Teen Heat would probably make mine, I think Crimes is underrated.
yep
i was going to put siamese gun in there. and yeh although i don't see crimes as one of the best albums i do find myself listening to it almost more than the others..
Siamese Gun is right
and their Gang of Four remix would be on it for sure. I'd ditch Laser Life and put USA Nails.
USA Nails
is a better song. Its incredible. But as an introduction to the band I reckon Laser Life needs to be in there.
Porcupine Tree
1. Buying New Soul
2 Trains
3. Don't Hate Me
4. .3
5. Arriving Somewhere But Not Here
6. Stranger By The Minute
7. The Start Of Something Beautiful

9. When the Deal goes down
10. Like a Rolling Stone
Starter for 10 for Dylan
I need to do my own, as I'm not 100% about the previous one.
1. Changing of the Guards

6. Don't Think Twice, It's Alright

And if you dispute the last track, I may lose my mind.
No Mr Tambourine Man on either?
Fuck Tambourine Man
The Byrds twatted that one up!
Can't have Dylan
without Motorpsycho Nitemare!
Did a beautiful 23 tracker for Spoon once
and a really ace 19 track Cure one.

A Modern Way Of Letting Go
Roseability
Film For The Future
I Don't Have The Map
Paint Nothing

idlewild
damnit Idlewild is a tough one..
1. Roseability

7. American English

4. Frightened
5. English Scheme
6. Printhead
7. Hit The North
8. The Man Whose Head Expanded

This is a a bit unfair, as there are probably another 40 tracks that could have made it.
No Totally Wired or Telephone Thing?
Good call on Rouche Rumble though. Totally overlooked.
Kicker Conspiracy?
Basically the whole of Perverted by Language as well :)
Not bad... but...
1. The Classical

this is my fave intro list so far.
Well done
Even though there have been two already
I'm doing a Broken Social Scene one, including the albums the others scandalously forgot.

Ghost on the highway???!
?
I know, I know
But unlike some of these people, I obey the rules of this thread and kept it to the specified ten.
I would never ruin the integrity of this thread by revealing that the 5 I left out were:
11 - Ghost On The Highway
12 - Like Calling Up Thunder
13 - Death Party
14 - Bad Indian
15 - For The Love Of Ivy
Because that would be wrong.
Every Time I Die

9. you don't have to be a scientist to do experiments on your own heart
10. art land
this was really hard.
nothing from 12 crass songs because this is an intro to jeff lewis and all those songs are covers, mostly very good ones but covers nonetheless.
very good choices
but I'd say covers are ok as it introduces you to an artist's influences and I think his take on Crass songs are pretty ace too.
ps.
maybe would swap 'art land' for 'life'... or at least thats what I've done seeing as I've just set up this playlist to listen to :)
yes, that would make more sense
than having artland as a freakout rocker at the end of a playlist of his more mellow stuff
oh
and cheers, I've had nearly enough Jeffery Lewis in my life recently! "back when i was a hundred and twenty-eight..."
you've gotta have alphabet!
my fave jeff song
The Jeffrey Lewis thread
is sorely lacking in The History Of Punk On New York's Lower East Side 1950-1975.
daddy's hands
not my fave and only 2 proper albums but they are amazing and underrated so...
1. dress you down
2. i hate-z pank
3. summertime
4. scared safari
5. great balls of fire
6. m. poisson
7. cockfight
8. hard times
9. queen anne
10. incest at best
you could play this on random if you wanted...
The Smiths
I couldn't choose my favourites so this is purely to give a glimpse of what they are capable of, in no particular order:
1. How Soon Is Now? (Its powerful opening is pretty captivating)
2. Bigmouth Strikes Again (a more obvious one- a perfect example of the intertwining upbeat riffs and sardonic lyrics)
3. Pretty Girls Make Graves (I think it’s imperative to have a bit of Morrissey-wailing in there)
4. The Draize Train (arguably the best of their instrumentals (thank you Johnny Marr!))
5. Handsome Devil (“There’s more to life than book you know, but not much more” Outstanding. (And we get a little scream from Morrissey)
6. The Queen Is Dead (This is crucial in showing Morrissey’s fluid singing style and kitchen-sink-drama-ish lyrics draped over a colossally magnificent melody)
7. That Joke Isn’t Funny Anymore (I constantly battle with myself as to whether I actually like this song or not, it’s certainly different to the usual Smiths sound- if there is such a thing. Though the eerie guitar, the opening bellow of drums, the appropriately cheesy sound effects, the curious fading of the whole song, Morrissey’s dreary falsetto cry and the usual chanting of miserable utterances help sculpt a necessary example of The Smiths experimental side.)
8. The Boy With the Thorn in His Side (melancholy with a smile)
9. There Is a Light That Never Goes Out (disregarding ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ and ‘Hallelujah’, a potential contender for The Worlds Saddest Song? Definitely a Smiths pinnacle anyhow)
10. Girlfriend in a Coma (not a favourite of mine but people seem to really love it. Short and Sweet, it’s one of their most edible).
I know once I post this I will instantly regret it… they have so much more to give!!
I love
That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore, brilliant song.
You left off
'This charming man' why?
David Bowie
I can't get down to 10. I'd have to burn at a lower bitrate or something.
01. scary monsters (and super creeps)
02. queen bitch
03. ziggy stardust
04. without you i'm nothing (w Placebo)
05. suffragette city

10. lady stardust
11. the man who sold the world
12. ashes to ashes
13. sound and vision
14. rock n roll suicide
15. china girl
que?!
no 'breaking glass'! or 'memory of a free festival'! :)
such a hard list to do!
Ambitious! (Trying to cram Bowie in 10 songs)
But no:
John, I'm Only Dancing,
Let's Dance,
We Are The Dead,
Space Oddity,
Young Americans,
Andy Warhol,
Hang On To Yourself??
Yes and Breaking Glass, in fact more Low.
I could go on but I guess that would be stretching the 10 limit a bit.
dEUS:
Bad Timing
Suds & Soda
Instant Street
Gimme The Heat
Put The freaks Up Front
Fell Off The Floor, Man
Hotellounge (be the death of me)

The Smiths

(2)Please, Please, Please
(3)Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now
(4)Rusholme Ruffians
(5)Girlfriend in a Coma
(6)This Charming Man
(7)Shoplifters of the World Unite
(8)Some Girls are Bigger than Others
(9)I want the One I can't have
(10)Panic
Very good
I'd swap Some Girls... and Shoplifters... for Asleep and Rubber Ring though.
Frankly, Mr Shankly
is probably best hidden until 'the listener' is converted surely? It's a bit of a Marmite song, an acquired taste if you will. As one of my friends put it: "It sounds as if he's singing it whilst bobbing up and down holding his braces" not the most accurate depicition.
depiction*
I know
it just makes me smile every time I hear it, but that's more because of a joke between friends. <3
Shankly is an acquired taste indeed.
That's a brilliant description.
of Frankly.
I used to hate it, but now I quite like it. (that didn't really go with the whole marmite thing though, did it?)
I'll have a crack
at a Will Oldham one. All original versions nothing off that 'Greatest Palace Music' nonsense.
1.O Let it Be!
2.Work Hard/Play Hard
3.A King at Night
4.I see a darkness
5.Open Your Heart
6.Disorder
7.Death to everyone
8.Ohio River Boat Song
9.Untitled
10.The Weaker Soldier
I'm sure there are ommissions but I stand by this.
oh and
this is a 'get someone into the band' compilation with one or two obscurities chucked in.
Please note there is nothing post 'Ease down the road' - there is a reason for this. A very good reason.
does anyone fancy trying their hand at a belle and sebastian one?
I reckon this would be tough.
Pretty much impossible to narrow it to 10 tracks
1. The State I Am In
2. Me And The Major
3. La Pastie De La Bourgeoisie
4. Dirty Dream No.2
5. Piazza, New York Catcher
6. A Century Of Fakers
7. She's Losing It
8. I Fought In A War
9. Dog On Wheels
10. The Boy With The Arab Strap
I could easily think of another 10 that could replace all of those though :)
that's actually
pretty much spot on.
I could live without 'piazza', would probably replace it with 'stars of track and field'.
and
i'd probably have 'lazy line painter jane' rather than 'dog on wheels'.
Yeah
Lazy Line Painter Jane should be in there somewhere. I'd probably swap it with Piazza in that list.
I'm having a go now
but I'd be tempted to just copy either Tigermilk or ...Sinister and just stick with those ten!
i'd go with these, but could easily do 30 tracks for them
The state that I am in
Dirty Dream #2
Seeing other people
Like Dylan in the movies
Dress up in you*
Slow graffiti
My wandering days are over
Sleep the clock around
The boy with the arab strap
Lazy Line Painter Jane (the live version from the Bowlie weekender)
*i'm not being tokenistic with this, i think it's a great track on an otherwise good-but-not-great album.
needs more 'expectations'
and more 'jonathan david'
Even though
narrowing it down to ten is nigh on impossible, does nobody but me want ´Legal Man´ on there?
The National
1. Available
2. Brainy
3. Daughters Of The Soho Riots
4. Fake Empire
5. 90 Mile Water Wall
7. All Dolled-Up In Straps
8. Baby We'll Be Fine
9. Slow Show
10. Mr November
^ knows what he's talking about.
Possibly switch Fake Empire and Baby... for Start A War and All the Wine.
Oops, I missed out track 6
I'd probably have All The Wine in there.
I'm actually tempted to make that CD!
:O
noooo Baby... is absolutely sweet - well.. they live version is.
i'd swap Daughters for Geese...
and All Dolled-Up in Straps for Cherry Tree.

It was so hard to narrow it down to 10. Short Lip Fuser should be in there as well. And My Arrow's Aim, dammit!

you forgot Who Is It? (vitalic mixxx obvssss)
Also you missed:
Play dead, joga, bachelorette and unison. I would swap them in for 10, 5, 8 and probably 7. That is a very hard one. I'd also have the version of hyperballad on Telegram. That version is absolutely wonderful in the way it builds up, nevers fails to affect me when I hear it.
I'll go with Muse for this

Nightswimming?
So Central Rain?
Finest Worksong?
I DON'T KNOW. IT'S TOO HARD.
I know
I KNOW!!! I had Finest Worksong - but then went with One I Love. I went with Nightswimming and changed to Monty Got a Raw Deal because I wanted a hidden gem. I'd need at least 20 tracks to begin doing them justice.
i'm not the best-versed on REM
but finest worksong is a great song.
I think the only things I'd change there
are Drive in for What's The Frequency and These Days in for Fall On Me (never liked that much for some reason).
The reason is you're a total flangepunnet.
YOU'D KNOW!!!!!

For a start, it doesn't have 'So You'll Aim Towards The Stars', 'For The Dishwasher' or 'Nature Anthem' on it!
Gimme a break
Pretty much sums up the Grandaddy sound for a newbie if you ask me. I like For the Dishwasher but you only get 10 choices and it's hardly a Grandaddy classic is it? Ditto 'So You'll Aim...' and I haven't even heard of the other one so indie points to you.
My Grandaddy list
would need Taster on it. and nothing from Fambly Cat. That's all I can decide on now. Oh wait, He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's The Pilot- that would definitely be on it. How can there be a Grandaddy list without it??
respect
alan parsons in a winter wonderland has to be there, definitely.
forgot about nature anthem,it's sweet. from my memory it was the extra track on a compialtion album of favourite tracks by other bands the singer liked.
he's simple has to go on too, that 1 minute where it explodes from "how's it going 2000 man......etc... they can never understand" is one of my favourite slices of music ever. so moving
so you'll aim to the sky also has to be there for similarly moving ability
and can i up my indie cred by suggesting another obscure track : sarah 5646766.another hidden gem
no sillies
it goes
1. Now It's On
2. He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's The Pilot
3. Everything Beautiful Is Far Away
4. Alan Parsons In A Winter Wonderland
5. A.M. 180
6. Jed's Other Poem

7. Deadweight
8. Sing It Again
9. Hotwax
10. MTV Makes Me Want To Smoke Crack
Eagle-eyed viewers may notice that nothing appears beyond Sea Change. There's a reason for this.
Is it because you couldn't afford to buy them
and so have never heard them?
exactly.
and also they're shit.
nah, the information= pretty good.
also, why nothing from mutations?
2. Nobody's Fault But My Own
8. Sing It Again
Me= pretty stupid and pretty unable ro read?
I think they're the weak tracks off that album thought. Cold Brains and Lazy Flies are both better.
nah that Beck list is all wrong

10. where it's at
4 tracks off Mellow Gold?
big up on whiskeyclone and send a message to her- I forgot about those two. But Where It's At is smug and overrated.
why the ?
Mellow Gold is amazing and also you saying anything off Odelay is smug and overrated wtf??? Odelay is one of the greatest LPs ever, and Where It's At is one of its many, many stand-outs
omg!!!!!
It's one of the classic LPs evar!!! It sed so in Q magazine an everything!?! that means you cant criticise any of th tracks, thats liek ccriticisin GOD!!!!!!
Seriously. Where It's At is a catchy riff overlaid with lots of yawnsome in-jokes for almost six minutes. It irritates me that it's the track everyone knows Beck by because it's one of the weakest tracks on Odelay.

That doesn't contain even 1 of the songs I had in my Ramones list. Shows the futility of cramming their career into 10 tracks I guess. In hindsight I probably should have included Endless Vacation tho....

Wait, you're returnofandyk79?
didn't know that, hello man :)
was it you
who said hello somewhere on here and said you'd just returned with a new name, calling yourself a previous user who wasn't obviously known to everyone but you'd posted here and there reasonably often ?

The Smiths
I know we have had a couple already, but I thought as they are one of my favourite bands, I'd give it a bash. I've maybe restricted myself by picking songs that I think would go in running order instead of just a collection of songs, by doing this I've maybe had to drop one or two I would normally play. What you think of this one...
01) Reel Around The Fountain
02) London
03) I Started Something I Couldn't Finish
04) This Night Has Opened My Eyes
05) Sheila Take A Bow
06) The Boy With The Thorn In His Side
07) Barbarism Begins At Home
08) Handsome Devil
09) How Soon Is Now?
10) There Is A Light That Never Goes Out
Christ, this game is fun but hard...
Oops
Got my track names mixed up #2 Half A Person instead of London.
Im gonna have some fun collating spotify playlists now
thank you you lovely intelligent beautiful people.

love these, but not my absolute favourites, trying to show the wide range of their abilities. surely there's something in here for everyone, but maybe something people would dislike too...
1 into the night (funk-rock stepper)
2 prick (only heard once off the live broadcast, eastern and krautrock)
3 slow life (electro, strings and harmonica epic)
4 crynood yn dy lais (relatively simple, at their most delicate, beautiful guitars and singing)
5 arnofio/ glo in the dark (one of the quiet/ loud songs they're so good at)
6 juxtapozed with u (blue-eyed robot soul)
7 northern lites (steel drums, trumpet, trombone)
8 wherever i lay my phone (that's my home) (maybe their most ambitious song, but pop too with repetitive squeaky vocals)
9 motherfokker (live hip-hop with country guitar)
10 the door to this house remains open (drum n bass with caribbean flavour)
