THE TOY BAND- Excellent short sharp pop songs are the order of the day- indie pop at its best..bit of Young Knives, bit of Blur, ska and country folk, blues and rocknroll in there too..off kilter twangy guitars, but its all about the off beats, harmonicas, violins, cow bells, triangles! There's a certain Larrikin Love like eccentricity in the spiky cut through male vox but with bigger schizophrenic balls..bloody great! From Cardiff with lurv…
BANG BANGS- Rough garage version of the Pixies… yeah… actually very Pixies (with those femme backing vocals too) Sonic Youth's definitely another reference… London based and very well done actually…. 2 boys and 2 girls… they could be quite interesting live I reckon…
JUNKYARD CHOIR-Yes, very Tom Waits..Beefheart, 'ska -polka rhythms' points out Simon P correctly…a post punkin' Pere Ubu meets The Clash element too…DMBT hve imploded and this three piece are born of 'em.
CARLOTTI- Idlewild meets The Clash. Plenty of punk punch, but tunes agogo…
