Faust - V (lostalbumcentric)
i recently stumbled upon this blog which has a copy of Faust's lost album from 1975 (or at least a version of some of the material which would be featuring on it):

It was supposed to be the sequel to IV but Virgin obviously weren't impressed, so cut the funding for it. To be honest, i can't really blame them. It definitely seems to be their most uncommercially friendly work, closest in sound to Krautrock from IV and some of the more extended ambient passages from the first album. Quite a lot of it reminds me of Throbbing Gristle for some reason. And, apart from a medieval sounding track, there isn't much of the folky or poppy diversions from the other albums
Despite the sound quality (which is extremely lofi and tape hissed to the max) this is definitely worth a listen for any Faust fans out there. As a curio it's really quite interesting, especially since it was their last mark until the mid 90s reformation
(apologies if this has been posted before)
