Epic45- May Your Heart Be The Map
My favourite album of the year thus far. Stunning stuff, and would fit in well with all this hauntological stuff Simon Reynolds gets excited about.
It's all about childhood memories of English countryside and is partly inspired by 70s TV drama Survivors (about people who survived a devestating virus and went back to living in the countryside). Sounds a bit like a less vague, more rocky Boards of Canada, a pastoral Hood and there's elements of late Fennesz, Slowdive, Mogwai, Disco Inferno and all sorts in there. Beautiful, beautiful stuff.
