Attention: Jamie Summers
You probably already have this, but, on the off chance that you don't you NEED to find 'Perfect From Now On - How Indie Rock Saved My Life' by John Sellers.
Here is the blurb:
'Despite vowing never to get caught up in music due to the nuttiness of of a Dylan-obsessed father and playground taunts about his preference for Top 40 trash, John Sellers found himself powerless to resist the lure of indie rock: from Sonic Youth to Pavement, Built to Spill to Modest Mouse, it became the soundtrack of his life.
When his beloved band, Guided by Voices, called it quits in 2004, Sellers examined his own listening habits, caught a few mind-blowing shows, got drunk with his heroes, and wrote this book a music fan's memoir overflowing with humour, self-deprecation and 'you should have been there' personal anecdotes'
I've just spent the best part of 6 hours reading it in the park and it is fucking brilliant!!!
That is all.
