Lyle's forgotten bands of the 90s : part 3
At the end of the 90s, the NME and the Melody Maker were multiplicating features on new bands certainly to be the first to talk about the next big thing. So many bands got their 5 inutes of fame ( more like 5 seconds actually...).
Case in point : ALCHEMICALS.
After one vinyl single ‘information centre' on Bluedog and one song on Fierce Panda 6-tracks ‘dope is important' they were one of the bands to watch in 1999. And they disappear. If they were always as bad as when I saw them ( half of the people were gone after 10 mns of a 17 mns set...) that was more than justified !
Reduced to a duo they released an EP a couple of years later, with a completely new sound, then added some musicians and changed their name to Western Electric System.
