Has anyone seen them live?
I saw them yesterday at Chapter 11. They were outstanding. Why have one drummer when you can have two, or three or four by the final song and why have three guitars when you can have seven, and there are keyboards and laptops too - only five people in the band. Swapping intruments in the middle of a song is clever especially if it involves dismantling part of the drum kit to pass to the guitarist while the song continues. You people call it "post-rock" I believe. This is that at its best. (Plus, blue Christmas lights over one of the drum kits.)
And, Una Corda - real rock post-rock with two basses, and Mothertrucker - rubber-necked nodding post-rock with the skinniest bass player I've ever seen, and Hexan - almost metal post-rock with, controversially, some vocals, though the only lyric I heard was "all the trees are going to die".
It was a great gig.
