The Jam
I think that there is insufficient, nay, almost no appreciation for The Jam on these boards. This ananomaly exists despite the plethora of bands who sound like The Jam around at present. Occasionally some ageist comments about Paul Weller appear but that is all. I would like to express my fondness for the aforesaid band's great pop songs of the late seventies: 'In The City', 'News Of The World', 'Modern World', 'The Eton Rifles', 'Going Underground', 'Strange Town', ''A' Bomb In Wardour Street', 'When You're Young', 'That's Entertainment', 'Funeral Pyre' and the stunning 'Down In The Tubestation At Midnight'. Great pop songs that everyone should be enjoying.
