I seem to get asked alot about it on here at least. I have got really into it this year, and like to make a good mix so you gota spread the love.
gutted, well its here for you now and a new one how cool is that!
there is some good stuff here - some I don't know
Pangaea is someone I've been meaning to check out for ages so this will be a good listen; I may not get there till later as I'm hip-hopping at the moment
Rustie is the best ever
but It would have probibly made it a bit big then I wouldnt be able to put it on a CD.
Pangaea is so good he runs Hessle Audio with Ramadanman they are both from Leeds and damn young.
Best track on here is Peverelist - Clunk Click Every Trip, I cant get enough of it pure perfection! I mix it into some deranged wonky stuff to so thats pretty sweet.
I go all wonky at the end the Vex'd mix is insane.
I'm sticking this on a cd and heading off to bed. Cheers!
I've listened to it 3 times tonight, once was live though of course...
that ramadanman mix for mah was smooth this week. even sexier than slow jam r'n'b.
he is one smooth mutha luva!
I'll put this on disc soon and have it in the car
this is your best thus far I reckon! The TRG Dub U track is gorgeous!!
Its easily my bestdubstep mix so far.
that TRG Dub U track is only just coming out and it was on the Appleblim Dubstep Allstars mix earlyer in the year, its the same with Jus Wan as well.
i'm downloading this one right now, hopefully going to fwd week after next, can't wait.
Listening right now. Nice one mate
(wrongly place reply ^)
I got one evil smiley face already on dubstepforum thats about as talkative as they get heheh
I blame Axis along with others for my dubstep obsession yeah the swine! Making me spend all my cash on 12" again!
these mixes can't keep getting better forever can they, or can they?
Whats the final track, what's going on there, it sounds like something off tigerbeat6 but after a bloody big bag of slow-mo?
cheers man and of course they can only get better ;)
that last track is fucked up I tell thee, I have no idea what Vex'd was on to make that mix. Wonky is just kickin off now man it's going to get very strange I reckon.
how's the d/l count coming along, i'm recommending wonk to all my family and friends!
DL's since when ever I posted this, sunday mornin was it?
pretty damn good hey...
I'm gettin lots of stuff together for another slowly to already.
i'll let you know in a min how it sounds on the BIG stereo, sounds nice enough from the ipod on my sonys
if you have a big sub and stuff like that it might not sound amazing.
I really wanta better recording set up/
low end missing then others are spot on, just the levels need a tweak rather than the set up i think.
oh yeah and 2 thumbs fresh from my housemates!
viynal is always pressed at diffrent levels some are as loud as hell some are really quite, only so much you can do with basic EQ's on the fly while mixin live.
I'm listening to it again, lovin it.
I wish I could go t0 FWD>>
DMZ is coming to Leeds though next month with Kode 9, Skream and Hatcha so I guess I will live with that hey? yep...
i'm probably saving this til the train tomorrow, listening to 9th wonder and pete rock right now.
I have heard a few of his tracks in the odd mix.
This mix will work a treat on a train journey.
thanks very much
I'm still loving playing this.
Hope you have recovered from last night putting Donks on stuff and coming on here shouting about Young Jeezy!
and after an evening of jamming Young Jeezy, Slayer and Fleetwood Mac at someones party my drunken self felt compelled to tell the internet. I r dumb.
I beleave you said
and I can't really disagree, I'm gona try and make a Lil Wayne Vs. Dr Hook mashup
I may have been drunk, but I was right. If you could do that it would be pretty crucial. Young Buck Vs. Toto
Here, about the 24 minute mark, what track is that, and does it sample Barrington Levy??
that is the D1 track Chocolate Orange though
there is a Nina Simone sample on teh Breakage track ;)
really great mix. is a lot of this 'wonk' then? really don't get what wonk is...
Peverelist is kind of bluring the lines between the technoy side and the wonky side of things. Then Ikonika, Gemmy, Rustie and this mix of Scuba are pretty much what wonky is right now. But to be honest its a vauge discription for a hell of alot of music ranging from Flying Lotus style hiphop beats and tempos to 140 bpm dubstep with strange bleeps in it. Anything that makes you want to dance and fall over at the same time is a bit wonky.
because after a several bars of regular beats they vary the timing, or go back a few beats and if your very drunk you then get your feet crossed and fall over
I like what ever it is at 1.02.39 which sounds like 2562's Kameleon (I think?)
I guess it has that echoy reverb thing like the drum loop on Kameleon does. It's got that techno edge to it as well, I will grab them both and get mixing and see what happens.
That track is my fave on the mix.
It was a great mix altogether, many thanks!
is that two tunes playing at 48:50? great job mixing if it is, they fit together well.
that is an epic and subtle mix.
Quest - Stand & Likhan’ – Qumran
from like the middle / end of the breakdown of Stand to the end of the track, a few mins or so in da mix.
I wrotye about the tracks and put links to all of the artists for anyone that wants to find out more ;)
70 DL's already!
even though they make my brain hurt
no idea why I called it mojo's wonk farm it was just the first thing that came into my head when the computer asked me to name it.
Is the recording alright?
I can't decide if its all a bit quite or not?
It doesn't sound bad on my stereo pumped up loud or on headphones though one of my peeps might have forgot to wack on his bass bin heheh...
hope you enjoy it ;)
for some reason my subwoofer doesn't want to play anything but a rumbly-crackly bass. As in, it sounds as though the bass isn't there. Which is kinda ruining all the songs for me. Strangely enough it sounds fine through my tiny little earphones. And my speakers are absolutely fine, they are quite bass heavy anyway.
Don't know what you can do about this, though. The LHC one was fine on both my speakers and earphones... bummer.
Its the first propper mix I've recorded on my new laptop and I'm pretty sure my new laptop somehow has an even shitter soundcard than my old one.
I was trying to tweak the WAV file last nigh and couldn't really get it any better at all, which sucks a bit. I can't think whats doing it at all. Nothing is diffrent apart from my laptop...
