Paul Simon - Graceland: 25th Anniversary Edition
There are moments on Paul Simon’s Graceland when it sounds transcendent, and there are others when it just sounds vibrant and alive, impervious to any wider concerns or political firestorms. This 25th Anniversary Edition, with accompanying documentary Under African Skies, does a fine job of chronicling the creation and controversy of a modern classic.

Was actually wondering last night when DiS were going to cover this.
Now that I've read this, it's certainly worth the wait. Superb piece about one of the genuinely classic albums of the past quarter century.
Fantastic piece
Really enjoyed the read. Looking forward to seeing the film too. Graceland, I suspect, will continue to be imitated, without ever being bettered.
Thanks both!
As said, the film is really, really good.
Graceland is one of my best-loved records
and when I got this version I pretty much listened to nothing but this for two weeks. It's a perfect, faultless, flawless record. And the film provides some welcome context.
Is this the same documentary
that was shown on the BBC last week?
Haven't had a chance to listen yet
but this sounds pretty cool http://www.kleptones.com/blog/2012/06/28/hectic-city-15-paths-to-graceland/#.UA_uEpGLkwQ
