Future Of The Left - The Plot Against Common Sense
This is a misanthropic, outraged and often hilarious skewering of the early twenty-first century and its fascinations... The Mclusky/Future of the Left box of musical tricks is liberally mined here, though. You won't be disappointed if you're looking for ADHD punk in the style of 'Lightsaber Cocksucking Blues' ('Sheena is a T-Shirt Salesman') fun and games with keyboards ('Cosmo's Ladder' and 'A Guide to Men')... Thank you, Future of the Left – you've saved rock music. Now to make it pay.

Hi Falco!
fanboy
Fantastically written review
(except maybe the phrase 'drummer Jack Egglestone's awesome drumming.') On only one full listen so far I think I'd lean more towards a 7 but I'm looking forward to seeing how that changes when I have a CD to wear out. As great as the new members are, I'm still trying to get over the Kelson-shaped hole, but the EP went up in my estimations with repeated plays. Even with Travels, as much as I always loved it, it took me a while to realise it actually is better than Curses like everyone said it was.
Yeah
takes a few listens for it to properly worm itself into your brain - especially for some of the more wonky mental songs.
and what's wrong with 'drummer Jack 'awesome' Eggledrum's awedrum drumming'? :) I stand by every word of this review. Apart from 'though'. Fuck that 'though'.
ps - douchebag - yes, I am a fanboy, and unashamedly so. Which is why I took this review more seriously than probably any I've done before, and if the album was crap I would be the first (well second after Pitchfork) to criticise it.
A very well written blog post
cannot possibly take this review seriously though because it's clear the critic was already ready to propose to this album the moment it was announced
shit band.

Great line. Well done.
It's fun the first time you hear it.
But FOTL are kind of like listening to a comedy routine. As repeated plays make you appreciate the music more, you appreciate the lyrics less.
This is an album that keeps on giving
I've been listening to it on and off for about 2 weeks now and it just gets better.
This has grown on me loads now
Cheers
