For Sweet Heart Sweet Light Jason Piece has gone with a compliment of almost-plasticized, female soul backing vocals as the gimmick. Like a subtlely effected version of the Sweet Inspirations.
What is that review on about exactly?...
i mean, this review has gotten more of a response out of me than the album, but still...
who hired this goon?
...to criticise this review.
The reviewer states that they're in the middle of a year-long purple patch of listening to Spiritualized, yet they write as if they had only heard of them when they picked the cd up two days ago.
Is this just so DIS sticks out at metacritic? Because EVERY other review is positive bar this one.
I appreciate that all reviews are subjective to the reviewers tastes and experiences, but surely someone else at DIS had a more balanced and well-written piece in them than this?
go and read the article on the Libertines movie.
but this review is rubbish
...skipped 'Life is a Problem', did you? My heart's not been broken so hard since Ladies And Gentlemen...
Of an album that has plenty going on, it's another decent Spiritualized album, it's a great listen, and I hope Pierce can get through the next few years without a near death experience, I think time will agree that he's made consistently decent engaging music, even the two albums people said were sub par have proven to be rewarding to re visit.....call me old fashioned but I want my reviews to say how an album sounds and if it's worth my time......
