I heard a few songs from a website that was streaming it. It sounded
ok on first impressions. Like all Tindersticks albums I guess you have to give at least three or four listens before making up your mind on it.
Agreed about the urgency they have rediscovered in their sound with this one
and that this is the sound of a band with a wealth of experience, putting it to great use.
Truly mesmerising record.
"there are few who sound as thickly gorgeous as they do, like treacle slowly meandering down a crystal bowl" - one of the best sentences I've ever read in description of the Tindersticks.

So true. This album reveals the lack of depth and idea missing in most modern music today.
First time listener
Have just listened to Tindersticks for the first time - it's always nice to come across something you never knew was missing from your life. I have some catching up to do...
If this album was cut short by 2 songs it'd be a classic
but as such it's an album thats great in 2 separate listens and a bore in one long listen... it's that tempo, it shouldn't be maintained for 50minutes!

Beautifully written, like a good book I can't put down. I haven't heard the album yet, so I have high expectations now after this review! But after all, it is the Tindersticks...
