New acts have been added to the bill of Europe's - nay, the world's! - first-ever under-18s-only festival...
2 months after i become too old! how will they figure out ages, ask for people to show un-id or something?!?!?!
if you bring any id, you're not allowed in.
So bring your little brothers provisional driving licence.
Can't I just bring along EVERY SINGLE ONE of Southampton's bar staff who IDs me EVERY SINGLE TIME to help me get in?
I'm twenty-bloody-four! :(
dat's what i'm talkin bout!
but this is a pretty stupid state of affairs really. Surely the whole idea of the underage club thing was to be inclusive? And now they're banning older people? And it sort of means you still ned ID anyway. Oh the ironing.
how does housework come into this?
under-18s tend not to do any?
this is indeed a rather stupid state of affairs, the idea of banning older people really just for the sake of it seems absurd.
nice line up all the same..
That's right. It was the Camden Crawl.
Damn these kids. At our 'big persons' version we got booze, drugs and blowjobs in the Monarch toilets! What will these kids get? Sunstroke!
I'm covering this for a magazine. But I only fancy seeing Crystal Castles, and maybe Mystery Jets.
I wish I could be bothered to set up an account as gary glitter...endless fun
they'll be banning them because other festivals will have exclusive deals on the acts. by saying its under 18's only, they can get round this. well i think thats the reasons.
i've started being i.ded again recently.
so maybe i could get in?!
only under-18s can watch, but people of any age are playing? that hardly seems fair, does it?
why ban over 18s?
everywhere should just be like Belgium, where there are no age limits on gigs, everatalleverneveratall.
"..just a bunch of posh kids having a bash as pop stars. not recommended. mind you maybe they'll flourish under a tory government."
whenever I go to a gig that's billed as 'no under 18s', Patrick Wolf at Koko and Regina Spektor at the Leadmill being the best examples, the venues are filled with kids blatantly under that age. I'll put it straight, doesn't bother me, but, why have the age resrictions if you're not gonna put them in place? Just makes the venue liable.
So, yeah, over 18s should buy a ticket if they want, and see if they can get in, based on the above. Can't see why it won't work in reverse.
Funniest thing; how will they pay for their tix? Do the ticket sites take Solo cards, hahaha.
true working class bands, i think the Manics are a bit old to play there.
Us 'children' never get a chance to see any quality bands and i think its about time we got our chance without any trouble. I cannot wait!!!!!
Age restrictions are a fucking travesty, whichever way they swing. Gigs should be about everyone coming together in the Big Sweaty Church of Rock and Fucking Roll, regardless of race, religion, sexuality and, yep, age. End of.
I'm off to puke blood into a dustbin full of Stuart Maconie's guts.
