I've decided what my blog is going to be about: Albums

I buy many albums. I love albums, they're the best medium for music says I. Trouble is I actually buy more than I listen to. Some are put up on my shelf still in the plastic wrapping they come in.

While its nice to pull something down 6 months after buying it and realising I've had this amazing record in my possesion for yonks that I suddenly can listen to; free CD almost, (like a tenner you find in neglected pair of jeans) I feel like it leads to some bad habits.

Habits like never listening to an album. There are some CDs that are over 18 months old that I haven't really given a good listen to. Also waiting too long can mean an album 'of the moment' can see it's moment pass and I might not be able to appreiciate it as much if it becomes dated.

Another bad habit is just buying albums because they're cool to own. Its a waste of money.

So my blog page is going to be my mini album review site. I will not buy a new album untill I have reviewed all the albums I have recently purchased.

While I don't intend this to be a user review thing I hope that my blogs will be a bit useful to a few readers. They will be short as their primary function will be to encourage me to listen to more new music and to stem the flow of cds that stream across my debit card. Also it will hopefully get me to flex my journalistic muscles a bit in preperation for my possible career.

I'm gonna make sure every new album gets a blog but also I'm gonna do a few albums that I've never really given a good listen to every so often, like when I can't afford new music for instance.
