Last Harbour is :
David Armes: guitar, noise, oddments
Kev Craig: voice, theremin
Mike Doward : electric bass, double bass
Sarah Kemp : violin
Huw McPherson : drums, percussion
Gina Murphy : piano, voice, organ
James Youngjohns : viola, lap & pedal steel.
Last Harbour are a Manchester collective. If their first mini-album ‘an empty box is in my heart' wasn't very far from the Tindersticks they have progressively created their own sound, at the same time rich, barren, complex and simple. Using instrumentation that might traditionally be associated with folk music, the band creates sonic pictures that speak to your mind. This is music with a strong emotional content, both bitter and beautiful.
After releasing ‘the host of wild creatures' ( 2002 ) and ‘hold fast, pioneer' ( 2005 ), Last Harbour have just finished recording and mixing a new album in Hall Place Recording Studio in Leeds.
