Laura Veirs lives in Seattle and writes songs for a living. Her first album was called "Troubled By The Fire" and was full of lots of nice warm folksy vignettes. Her next album was called "Carbon Glacier" and was colder, darker, and better. Someone at Pitchforkmedia said it was "a cold, beautiful and engaging record that translates the bleak, isolated vastness of nature into the bleak, isolated vastness of the modern city-sprawl, leaving one voice to sing in solitude." Which means it's really good.
