Dillinger Escape Plan

Dillinger Escape Plan have covered Justin Timberlake's 'Like I Love You' in the studio, having played it live a number of times. It's to be released as part of an internet-only EP, out later this month.

The download-only six-tracker will be available through i-Tunes on June 13, and features a few other covers alongside the band's reinterpretation of the former Mickey Mouse Club singer. Track listing as follows...

'Unretrofied' (radio edit)
'Wish' (Nine Inch Nails cover)
'Angel' (Massive Attack cover)
'Jesus Christ Pose' (Soundgarden cover)
'Like I Love You' (Justin Timberlake cover)
'The Perfect Design' (live)

All the tracks were recorded and mixed by DEP guitarist Benjamin Weinman in his own bedroom. A DVD, containing odds and sods related to DEP's last album Miss Machine, is due for release later this year.

    jesus, hope this is good.

    • oooh.

i wonder if it will have footage from that underworld show? i heard the whole point of it was for a dvd...

  • I heart you, Puciato

    GWWWWAAAAAR! etc

  • this reeks of stop-gap

understandably, i think they want make sure people remember them so in about 4 years time when they are likely to return, people wont have moved on
but that didnt happen with miss machine, so maybe im talking crap

  • see

i heard the Timberlake cover when they were in session on Mary Anne Hobbs' Rock Show yeeears ago and i expected it to be frantic jazz-metalness. It's slightly disappointingly faithful...

Like I Love You is a tune. The drums are probably the most perfect thing ever.

    • I liked Lost Prophets version of

      Cry Me a River.

It actually ruled, even though I noramlly hate the formulaic, nu-emo-metal that they produce.

      • Like I Love You...

....was actually a great pop song, as was Cry Me A River. His singles really were ace, even if he happens to be flaming twat.

  • Their version of Jesus Christ Pose

    was epic win
