Brett Anderson and Bernard Butler have reportedly been recorded a track together, so says an unnamed source close to London radio station Xfm. Indeed, it's true Anderson and Butler were spotted together recently in London.
In addition to this, Anderson has recorded three tracks with Richard Hawley in his Sheffield studio. "It sounds a bit like Johnny Cash," says the 'source'. The material is for a possible solo album.
Anderson has been wanting to "get back to basics" after the breakup of Suede late last year.
More info on the Xfm website.
Butler has produced The Veils' debut album, out soon on Rough Trade, and is currently working on The Libertines sophomore effort. The Libs have sold out two nights at the 4,000 capacity Brixton Academy, and have just added a third date. Good lord!

Excellent! Let's hope for Dog Man Star Part 2: the Butler Produced Edition with Ed Buller nowhere near the fucking record.

If you want something truly 'subversive' you can knock off in a day, I heartily recommnend Martin Amis' 'Time's Arrow'.

now its just one of those stupid music review words im indifferent to; like "eponymous".
the only word i hate in music reviews is "subversive". cos its always used either to justify supposedly credible bands making crap records, or make good pop bands sound like something more than they are.
