Two-tone legends The Specials are considering a reformation, according to BBC 6music.
The band - famous for a string of hits including the enduring 'Ghost Town' - have received a number of big-money offers to get back together. Singer Terry Hall spoke to 6music:
"People keep offering us money all the time, and you try and be polite. But you have to say, no matter how much money you've got, that won't make us do it. We'll only do something if we feel it's right. I mean this is the closest we've been in 25 years to maybe doing something - but maybe not what's expected, I don't know."
Nothing immediate, then, but such a reunion would no doubt be welcomed. Rather them than East 17, basically.
Trouble with The Specials is that
they've done too much, much too young.
*cringe*
Bring back Fun Boy Three
hasnt this
been going on for quite some time. the guy from crystal palace (simon jordan?) has been trying for years. last year all original members co-signed a letter stating they were not going to reform.
east 17, however, did reunite in original line up mortimer appearance shocker.

saw
terry hall DJ yesterday. ah
Did he play
Lil' Bow Wow like he did at Bestival last year? i cringed.
Hopefully not.
Hmmm
Well they weren't that good.
Errrm, yes they were
Part of what made the Specials so brilliant in their day was that they were very much part of the zeitgeist.
without thatcher, race riots etc i think alot of their relevance is lost. i'd still go and see them though...
Why?
What is the fucking point in reforming. It pisses me off greatly that any band who've called it a day once would even consider reforming. They're done, that's it, forget it!
special
The problems I have with a band like The Specials reforming are:
- Things like Thatcher and race riots aren't as relevant anymore, so would they be playing as passionately?
- Their songs are so full of energy and most of the band are nearing their 50's now; the bands energy may have faded as they become old men. Can you see Lynval Golding leaping about still?
Saying all that though, I would still go see them
