And lo it was the second day of the week, being Tuesday

And it was the 21st day of the month of October

In the year of our Lord 2003

And on that hallowed day, the band known as AC/DC

Being Angus, and Brian, and Malcom, and Cliff, and Phil

Didst come to the Hammersmith Apollo

And being the massively cool guys they were,

Charged their fans only ten measly quid

For a show which broke into heaven

For AC/DC are gargantuan rock titans

And yay, all other bands in existence should go down on one knee and swear
fealty to them,

Angus Young plays guitar like his hands were blessed by Jesus,

Brian Johnson sings like a ferret that has been plugged into the mains,

The band rock like there's no tomorrow,

And yay, if there was no tomorrow,

If the world had ended that night,

All in the Hammersmith Carling Apollo would have smiled at the passing,

Knowing full well that they'd seen a show which was the dog's bollocks

For the DC's song catalogue quite frankly towers above nearly every other band
in the universe

How hard it must be, being them

Trying to decide which one of their many hundreds of classic tunes won't make
it into the set

Knowing full well that tracks like 'Stiff Upper Lip' which they wrote two years
ago

And tracks like 'Let There Be Rock' which they wrote over twenty years ago

Still kick arse in the most severe way

And in that venue

that was both Hammersmith

And Apollo

There was much screaming and dancing

'Highway to Hell' and 'Back in Black' caused much merriment and joy

'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap' and 'TNT' shook the foundations of the building

And although there was no 'Who Made Who'

There was 'If You Want Blood'.

So that was all right.

Universal truths were imparted to the audience

Such as:

There are fewer things on planet earth sexier than watching a woman grind away
to 'You Shook Me All Night Long'

Particularly the blonde woman two rows in front of me

In the circle front row on the left

I think you might even work for the Daily Mail

Why did you get talking to that mullet standing next to you

Just as the show ended and I was going to try and crack on to you?

And

The DC rock like Gods

Er..... that's it.

And as the cannons on stage fired

(Yes, they had cannons

They have a song with cannons in it

This proves they are the shit)

During 'For Those About To Rock We Salute You'

All 5000 people in attendance lucky enough to get a ticket

In the four minutes during which they sold out

That's 20 tickets per second for those of you who are counting

Basked in manna from heaven that issued forth from the Marshall stacks

And gave thanks to whatever higher power

Made a band like this possible

reading this...

gave me a headache
although I may have had one already
I can't be sure
but I am sure
that it was, no doubt, a rollicking good show
cannons and all...

...my friends went, the bastards...

Re: reading this...

Yeah, I managed to go as well - went with my brother and a couple of my esteemed housemates. It rocked so hard, it was unbelievable...

superb. my neck hurts from head banging so much; I think I gave myself whiplash.

An astounding gig

Early

Powerage and High Voltage are actual works of genius. Shame most peoples knowledge of DC is post Highway to Hell. I'll bet the Hammy O gig rocked like a beeyatch... wonder if Brian Johnsons voice is holding out..sounded a bit wobbly a few years ago

a classic

I was just saying how a best of AC/DC would knock the stuffing out of near enough any other rock record ever made.

i was there

for that i am truly thankful....amen

I wanted to go to this so much

I ended up not being able to get tickets and being dragged to see Hanson (you heard me) by my best friend. I better get tickets for the world tour!
