Out today! I'm too lazy to go down to the shops but doubt I can manage another day without it either. Hmmm. Anyone bought it yet? Or (sigh) listened to a leaked copy? I'm pretty certain it'll be magnificent.

Had it for a while

It's good, but very familiar sounding...

I am just reviewing this

and was going through their back catalogue - turns out they released an entire album last year that I somehow didn't even hear about. "Rehearsing My Choir". Did anyone hear this??

Ha

it's my favourite record of 2005 and probably everyone elses least favourite. I'm just re-reviewing it for my webzine now to coincide with the Bitter Tea launch. An underrated masterpeice if there ever was one. It was going to be a double album with Bitter Tea but Rough Trade didn't let them do that.

Hmmm

4/10 on Pitchfork
4/5 in The Guardian

Will have to take a look.

There are

a few interviews and such about it that are worth reading. http://www.thefieryfurnaces.net has most of them. For a quick idea there's a nice radio session/interview scrollable from here:

I reviewed

'Rehearsing My Choir' a while ago. I quite liked it, but can understand why people don't like it. My review is on here somewhere: http://www.hmgovernment.net

I stayed clear of Rehearsing My Choir

because I get the impression the other stuff was infinately better, but I didn't really get along with anything FF at first. Now that I'm beginning to get right into it second time round will it be worth getting it? Or will the new one be more worthwhile?

When you say it's familiar

do you mean in relation to Gallowsbird Bark or Blueberry Boat? They both sound quite different to each other, and I'm not quite sure which one I prefer.

I'm not sure I'll bother with Bitter Tea

Love

I love the fiery furnacnes....how does their CD sound? Upbeat? High energy? Give me your own critique of it. Haha...basically, is it good?

I'm very much

looking forward to this. Will need to wait to get it cheap off ebay though. Still waiting for a cheap copy of 'Rehearsing my Choir' to appear there. I previously got 'Blueberry Boat' for £4 & 'Gallowsbird Bark' for £3 from ebay.

'Blueberry Boat' is a record you can very easily get obssessed with.

I want it !

Hope my record shop will have it tomorrow !
"rehearsing my choir" is a really strange album. Still can't say if i love it or hate it !
