Sleater-Kinney: One date

Sleater-Kinney, Group photo Portland trio Sleater-Kinney are to hit London for their first UK show in over three years.

Having supported Pearl Jam on a huuuuge tour around the US-of-A, the queens of the Pacific Northwestern indie scene are to play a handful of European festivals in August.

This includes a one-off show at the London Mean Fiddler (formerly LA2) on August 13th.

The band last visited the UK to promote their 2000 album, All Hands On The Bad One. With the follow-up One Beat out almost a year, and no tour as of yet, this should hopefully be a precursor to many more UK dates.

DiScuss: Just how damn good is this group? Or are you sick to the teeth of these pesky bass-less bands? Ever notice that the North West of a country always makes the best music?

    Any idea when tickets go on sale, there's nothing on meanfiddler, stargreen etc... and I MUST go.

      this one on the 13th, its the day before my A level results. Which i have to be at home for in case i have to go through clearing and whatnot.

      fucking hell.

      i dont know anything about london. is it possible to see a gig and then get a train/coach back to manchester afterwards?
      i'd have to be at home for 10am. jesus.

        Ask Raz re. getting back to Manchester at night in London - he may know.

        I live in a small village in the south east and I can get a train at 11.30pm from Charing X back home so maybe you can too???

        You HAVE to come - how cool is it seeing a band and you know EVERY single song? From six albums too!!!

          Oh hell I forgot Im getting exam results the day after... I need to get back to Cornwall and all. Ah well.... early train back for me in the morning then.
