The quite brilliant Bear Vs Shark - if you've not heard them yet, do so - have called it quits.
The Equal Vision-signed outfit, scheduled to tour the UK alongside the equally ace Since By Man in the late spring of 2006, only released their second album, Terrorhawk, a few months ago. It's perhaps needless to say that the hardcore scene will be a much more boring a place without their invention and energy. They'd been together for five years.
The band's official website is right here. DiS wishes the band members all the best in their future projects.
I thought they were a made up band
until I got a DiS mixtape with one of their songs on
now its time to get a job.
OH FOR
FUCKS SAKES.
First Million Dead, now BVS.
Eurgh.
RIP
GAY!
they were well good. damnit
Fucks sake...
theres still a week before 2006.
Anymore?
Bear Vs Shark are ace.
R.I.P
They're not dead you know
sometimes bands preserved in amber are far better for it you know.
!
I'm more annoyed I didn't see them live.
!
McLusky?
dammit
we were looking for a bear called shark for our fantasy bill of bear vs shark, minus the bear, shark
terrible pun i know
but poor jokes aside, we liked them :o(
oops
that should say "band called shark"
never try to be funny when you have a migraine
you..
..coulda got sharks keep moving. actually have they split up?
They couldn't play
because - and someone correct me if I'm wrong - they have broken up, and their singer Jake Snider now sings in Minus The Bear.
Miss the Bear, but...
All us Detroiters are missing BVS, but there is promise - kindreds Heads Will Roll are here to fulfill all of your manic MC5/Drive Like Jehu-fueled needs. New vinyl out by yours truly, and (keep this quiet) but HWR teamed up with Bear Vs. Shark a month or so ago and cut a handful of stumbling studio tracks. The result is something akin to Beefheart, Gogogo Airheart, or even The Birthday Party, but far spazzier. The sides will see the light of day someday, under the name Sharkheads... and no, this isn't rumour-mongering!
