A release date for the forthcoming album, the band's third major release following Highly Evolved and 2004's Winning Days, has been set as March 7th 2006. The band's last long-playing effort was met with rather lukewarm praise, so it'll be interesting to hear what tricks, if any, the Australians have up their sleeves to appease critics once more.Tour wise, Craig's Asperger's Syndrome diagnosis, reported here, is likely to be an obstacle. Further news as and when we have it.

Are me and Wrightylew the only people on here who actually like The Vines. I don't listen to either album very much now, but they're really are better than they're given credit for. Craig Nicholls is an annoying fucker though. (Am I allowed to say that since it's medical?)

The fact is, even if the Vines do an amazing third album (which they probably will), DiS will NOT say: 'This is actually quite good.'
Instead, you'll go on about how he has 'tantrums' onstage, Winning Days was shit (which it wasn't), the NME liked them etc. etc...

I'm seriously looking forward to this album. I loved the first two- although highly evolved was one of those ones you love on first listen (and country yard was the song by the way) the second album was one that matures the more you listen to it. I adore both and I wish them all the best. Craig has an awesome voice and a talent for catchy writing catchy songs. From what I have heard it should be mind blowing.
That 'something awful' article was ignorant shyte. whoever wrote it clearly knows nothing about the band- if they had nothing better to come up with than that it shows how great they really must be.. no critique of the music i notice.
