my new flatmate has the whole run of Buffy and Angel, so we've started a marathon that'll probably go for a few months.
observations so far: Buffy is much hotter in the first season, crap though it is. i think it's that she's slightly chubbier and has 60's hair and dresses. Xander's character doesn't develop in the slightest from episode one onwards.
any other fans? (there must be). favourite episodes?
i think mine's Tabula Rasa, and the way Spike thinks he's Giles' son, and how heartbreakingly sad it is at the end.

it just refers to a documentary that was on C4 about a year ago following the progress of a man (who was a massive Buffy fan) attempting to lose his virginity. He went to a special virgin school in Amsterdam. He wore two pairs of pants to try and increase his security and control his lust or something.

I've just started the fourth season and it's just getting better and better. The episode where her roommate is a (SPOILER ALERT!!!!) Celine Dion loving demon is genuis. Plus Willow is suddenly very hot. It does make me feel old though - it looks really dated, but the seasons I've watched were all on when I was at sixth form!

I've got Season 4 and 5 on dvd, the rest on video. I'm going to replace them soon as they're a bit worse for wear. First 2 episodes of season 2 don't work properly on one video, the sound keeps dropping.
season 3 is actually a masterpiece of the television form
My favourite thing about Season 3
was watching the episode where Buffy's awarded 'Class Protector' with my girlfriend (who'd had a few glasses of wine) - I've never seen her weep so much, I had to pause it and hug her for about 5 minutes until she calmed down!
That was a touching moment!
