expect a much-trailed DiS facelift by the wonderful Tom Waddington (who also did theQuietus.com, he's a new addition to our small team) once ThrashHits.com has been built

  • Eugh

It is all bollocks on my end... text over pictures, can't see the logo. I like the aesthetic though... kinda.

    • ^^^^This

it looks bollocks. It still sounds like a feminist propaganda website.

      • really?

what set-up are you using? we've tested it in loads of browsers...eeeek!

        • I'm using IE7 (I think)

          and it looks wack.

      • "It still sounds like a feminist propaganda website"

        Wtf?

        • Was a magazine at my uni called 'Lippy'

          "written by women, for women"

So it's an easy connection for me to make.

          • Oh, I see

Still, you're making feminism sound a bit like fascism.

    • yep, lots of overlap

      with text and pictures

      • we're on it

  • The layout is really bad

I clicked on the link and didn't dare go any further.

    • ok

so we've just tried a bunch of browsers and there's a problem with Internet Exporer 6 which we're fixing. DANG!

  • Looks reasonable

on my browser (Firefox 2.0.0.16) but a lot of empty space: big blank lines below every 2 articles. There's a lot of scrolling up and down required to see all the content on the front page.

    • have you got an ad blocker on?

because that's where the adverts are

      • I'm using Flock

and was about to say that there are blank spaces - between articles (namely Amy Winehouse / Joe Lean, and Kayne West / P Diddy) - if the adverts are there, then it looks fine on my browser.

      • Yes

        good old Firefox ad blocker

  • IE7 here and it looks fine

    nice clean look

of course you should have expected people on this site to be neagative towards it.

    • IE 6

      Looks wrong.

      • we've fixed this now

  • looks all good to me

    on my PC/Firefox combo.

    • ..

      looks great

      a new toy at last!

      • it looks awful

        on my ie 6.

  • It SHOULD be fixed now

anyone in IE6 care to clarify?

  • A few too many google ads when you first go on the site

but not too shabby otherwise. Everything seems to be written by Rebecca - what happened to all the other writers? I know Jude left, but the only other person seems to be "Mike"...

    • (and I don't really see the point of a 25 word review...)

  • maybe ive missed something

but whats the point of lipster?

..or thrash hits? most of the stuff is covered here on DiS. the stuff that isn't...well...thats usually cos its a bit ghey.

  • i preferred being able to browse

all recent stuff in that sidebar, rather than scrolling all the way through.
Still, I'm glad it's back. I seem to be in the minority (here) but i love thelipster.
