shame they didn't realise how crap

the concept of being the Libertines with Razorlight-lite-like licks was before going into the studio?

lol and I quote from management

"However, the band's manager, Raye Cosbert, told NME.COM that he suggested to the band that they shelve the release because they had recorded it too early in their career. He said it did not represent them as a band now."

In normal speak...

"We sent out review copies of the album to press, radio and TV. They all thought it was shit. So we have given the band another 9 months to get slightly less shit than they are now."

I haven't seen it

but I gather the NME have given it a glittering review this week, which makes that rag look even more foolish.

Also: top friend on the band's Myspace is Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti. Is there something they're trying to tell us?
