Were they one of the great bands of the 90's? Did they arrive at the wrong time ie radiohead (amazing by the way), or did they deserve what they got?

People are ALWAYS posting about bloody Mansun on here! I liked them at the time, but listening back to them I they're not my cup of tea at all anymore.
Number 1...
...album.
I'd imagine quite a few remember.

'one of the great bands of the 90s'????
LOL.
Not another bloody Mansun thread
ENOUGH!!!
Wide Open Space
was a good tune, I struggle to remember anything else they ever did ever though.
That pile of wank
is all I remember by them, which is why I am baffled at the clamour on here of late.
Am I missing something, or are all of these people creaming themselves over the Britpop Marillion just a bunch of guppying cretins?
Six is this weeks Album
in the DiS album club thing.
How could I forget!
:)especially when there's some helpful soul making new threads about them every month or so...
I heard em
On Mark and Lard when it used to be on late. The first 7" was Take it Easy Chicken... when they were still called Manson. I bought it, it was a boss song. Unfortunately everything after that was pretty rubbish.
They could have been massive
but for their willfully daft lyrics.
"I Can Only Disappoint You"
was a tune. The Oakenfold remixes were also ace.
