of the week begins with the news that Khalid Boulharouz, one of the unexpected good players from Euro 2008, is to sign for Stuttgart of Germany from Chelsea.
Tottenham are submitting a dossier on Dimitar Berbatov and Manchester United's continued courting of him. I find this all very tedious. Can't we all just get along?
Roger Johnson signs a new deal with Cardiff.
Febian Brandy has signed for Swansea on loan for a 2nd time from Manchester United.
Newcastle consider making a move for Reyes. For a player that couldn't settle in a cosmopolitan city like London I find it highly unlikely that he will settle up north.
David Bentley has pulled out of Blackburn's training camp in Blackburn in frustration at not being able to mvoe to Spurs. I hope Blackburn stop his wages.
Man City are looking at £6million Espanyol midfielder Pablo Zabaleta.
Hull are to sign Delron Buckley from Borussia Dortmund for £300,000.
Eidur Gudjohnsen wants to stay at Barcelona rather than sign for West Ham.
Sheffield United are poised to sign Darius Henderson from Watford for £2million. That will leave the Hornets desperately short of options up front.
Blackpool are close to signing David Vaughan from Real Sociedad for £500,000.
Dean Whitehead could sign for Stoke if Teemu Taino signs for Sunderland.
I'm sure there's more on it's way.

spurs fans just make it too easy
there was a mild element
of pandering to stereotypes involved in this post.
very aroused.
where's modric?
idiot
"i find this all very tedious"
well you wouldn't if that hypocritical whisky-faced prick had been tapping-up your best player...i hope there some damming evidence against him and he's sent to guacamole bay.
Where he can eat avocadoes with mexicans forever
?
Levy is a fine one to talk
how long was he assuring Jol his job was safe whilst tapping up Juande Ramos? I'm not saying United haven't made an illegal approach - most clubs seem to do it now - but Levy's attempt to claim some sort of moral high ground is a joke.
Pretty much everyone
seems to be as bad as everyone else at the moment. Tottenham do seem to have a point in this case, much as United do over Ronaldo and Bayern Munich did over Hargreaves.
difference being
and i admit that the boards conduct with the Jol situation was abhorent, but Levy TRIED to keep that behind closed doors regardless how wrong it was, while Ferguson, Benitez and the agents involved here have actively used the press to put pressure on the player and club. Its a little different in that sense.
the Ferguson quotes are still very dubious
it seems strange that he'd say anything of the sort to a Norwegian supporters club after refusing to name names all summer. Sounds like more Sun bullshit to be honest.
But managers have
used the press since the dawn of time. It's not a new phenomenon for managers to come out and say they're interested in such and such a player. In my opinion it gets a bit naughty when they say they've agreed personal terms / that the deal's done whilst the selling club know little about it. Ferguson has allegedly said that he's interested in Berbatov and thinks a deal can be done. In my opinion that hardly constitutes an illegal approach. Presumably Chelsea and Reading should be compiling dossiers over Harry Redknapp who has publically said that he would like Shaun Wright-Phillips and Nicky Shorey?
Redknapp does that all the time
'I can't really comment on the player as we haven't spoken to the club but he's a wonderful talent who would do well here'
To be honest no one
comes out of the whole thing particularly well. Neither Ferguson, Levy or Berbatov's agent who we all know has been doing his best to get himself a tidy commission payment this summer.
Agreed, but in light of Fergie's
bed-wetting, he surely comes out worse. It's no secret that berbatov and his agent are not blessed with a great deal of integrity so i don't expect much from them. To be faior to Levy, he's doing what any fan would want their chairman to do - i hope he follows it through and brings Fergie to his knees, sobbing.
Levy is probably just playing hardball
he did much the same thing when Arnesen went to Chelsea - as I recall £10m soon quelled his complaints.
If Spurs get £50m for Berbatov and Keane then they ought to be laughing their cocks off - that's ample funding for two quality replacements and possibly a few bob left over for the January transfer window.
I'm not sure how strong
Levy's case is though. If it's all based on these quotes attributed to Ferguson then that's pretty flimsy. If he has proof that Ferguson has been in contact with the player or agent about a transfer without Spurs' knowledge then I hope the FA throw the book at him. Of course both you and I know that United and Ferguson would be hit with a fine, the agent might get a year ban and Berbatov will still become a United player.
Sadly true i suspect.
Levy's apparetly compiled a 12-month dossier of Fergie's indiscretions so hopefully it makes damming reading...
Bentley going from Blackburn to Spurs
might be one of the worst things to happen to Blackburn since Mark Hughes left.
*Spurs since Christian Gross arrived
nah, i'm just kinding. We'll take Roque as well yeah?
I have nothing against Blackburn
but any club with Paul Ince and Robbie Fowler on its staff deserves to go down
But it's...tuesday?
where are you going?
I've got the rest of the week off
I've decided to enjoy the sunshine, play golf and have a few sunny beers.
Play golf?
Aim left. Always aim left.
Thanks..
I'll bear that in mind ;)
Good choice of lager.

Essien signs a new 5 year deal
Very happy times indeed
Reyes?
In no way would that be a good idea.
Everyone should sign up for Guardian Fantasy Football
It's free and looks like it'll be a good laugh. Here's my team on it:

Walcott----Ballack----Modric
-----------Mikel-------------
Lescott-
-Terry-
-Woodgate-Richards
----------Gordan---------
opposing left midfielders
would tear that team apart
Aahhhh, the trusty old 2-1-1-1-3-2 formation.
It's supposed to be a back four
:)
I'm taking full credit for the Pavlyuchenko rumour...
Of course, it's a possibility that me and Juande just have impecible taste in players, or that it's nothing more than a coincidence, but when i started the below thread nearly a week ago i was just bored and making stuff up. This has happened before, on another forum, after several things appearing in a certain paper a couple of us decided to make up a transfer rumour which we were nearly positive couldn't be true, we ran with it and a couple of days later so did The Sun. In this case it's probably just coincidence, Spurs need a striker, Russia were great at the Euro's, it's very possible, but i'm going to say it was me that started it anyway, because journo's really are this fucking lazy normally, we read the various rumours and assume they're at training grounds or on the phone to agents, far from it, they're just idiots like us sat around on forums and rubbing their bellies all day. Stern John to sign for ManYoo.

Sir Tommy Forecast has gone to Southampton.
Realistically, Arshavin won't sign for Tottenham. I think it's just his agent trying to sound out Arsenal, Chelsea, Barca. Arshavin & Modric? Really?
good point
on loan though yeah? else I'll cry. We bought another keeper who i've forgotten the name of. Never mind.
Modric and Jenas then. Its EXACTLY the same.
sadly not.
