That was KWIK.

Are you right??

I'm going to need to see the workings.

Oh wait,

I don't know if any of Ace Bushy Striptease are on here. It seems kind of inevitable that they must be, there's about a million of them and they're dead indie.

I love them

Simon from Ace Bushy Striptease is actually a fan of me. Like, he's a big fanboy for me personally. Its quite frightening. But also strangely validating.

You are becoming something of a cult figure mister Whyman.

Get your arse back on the radio and get famous please.

I'd be a rubbish cult figure

I'm not particularly exciting or interesting, I just have a full name that combines well.

On the other hand, if anyone wants to give me a radio show, I'm listening.

I did a few

and put them on my blog, but nobody really listened.

Yeah, not even me and I was like the biggest fan of your radio show!

Did you fail to tell anyone about Tom? Did you? Is that what happened? Is it Tom Whyman?

I told the social board

they were a previously very reliable audience, I don't know what happened. Podcasting is rubbish anyway, it takes ages to edit everything together, its a lot of work for very little reward. I need a regular slot somewhere. (radio bosses read these boards, right?)

Nah you

have to get a plan.

- make a wildly successful podcast where you aren't lazy because it's a bit of work
- get a MySpace and add a bunch of DJs on all kinds of radio stations and sites and loads of other people
- communicate with them all
- get offered the evening slot on Xfm when John Kennedy has a skiing accident that you had no part in whatsoever officer
- etc

i can confirm that...

yes, members of ace bushy do post on here. I can't remember what simon's name is, but jeremy is emblenstackle and i've sung for them twice so maybe i count a little.

i'm not sure.

i'll have to ask simon.

have you heard their project for when jeremy goes away to india? it's pretty great. especially the freestyle rap at the end of michael kightly.

www.myspace.com/acebushysquirrels

simon is the indiest person i've ever met. does this count as a JAG?

bit of an Ace Bushy love in

This is Simon and this is my username. I'm ashamed to post here really as if you look at all my previous posts I'm either getting slated or I look like a real try-hard.

We don't properly post here, just read enough to pick up DiSisms that we can use in real life.

James! You are an integral part of our sound! We are defo getting you in to play instruments over the top and sing a bit when we record an album.

HI SIMON!

Hello Topher!

How are you? It was lovely meeting you at Truck this weekend, sorry for talking AT you too much and if it seemed like we were stalking you (we didn't mean to, it's just small and yeah). Are you having a lovely day?

lovely meeting you too!

it was indeed just small :)

yesterday was an ok day! today should be ok too!

*POSITIVITY*

IVITY!

hi simon!

I just spoke to you on the phone. I fear my DiS cover is blown in all but SWSBOF matters. rubbish. Hi John. Hi Tom Whyman. it was nice meeting you on Sunday evening. I hope you had a super fun time at the Wellington with Smigs. Good pub. strong cider. ACE

Hi!

Hi Simon!

Hello JB

I miss you. We were at the real ale pub. What have you been up to this weekend? I hope we can pick up a drum kit for you in London sometime soon. I look forward to angering drummers in instrumental trombone bands around Britain soon.

xxxx

Well this weekend I borrowed lots of equipment

and made all the musicians walk. It was just me this time, no roon for anyone else, I piled my cart high with amps and cymbals and big cases full of mysterious audio devices and galloped off cackling and cracking my horsewhip, all the way to Ally Pally, with distraught drummers falling by the wayside like so many red faced scarecrows.

That, and pancakes.

I'm glad you were horsewhipping

What's yr favourite whip? Whip.

Drummers are necessary viral infections upon rock music. Viral.

We cut out all the escort service adverts from the yellow pages and now they are useless. Are.

I like it up here in the thread.

It's like our own private conversation. Station.

Hi Simon!

Hi whoever EmblensTackle is!

That much I figured

but WHICH bushy? aaaaah.

ahhhhhh

clue: for 6 months I will be a mere effigy of myself on a clever piece of plastic and wire

Hello Jeremy

I want it, I want it

Also, I'm going to go with 'proper' users 7, those with accounts at least 15 or so.

Well MelesMeles IF THAT IS YOUR REAL NAME

You or anyone else wanting a copy of this fine piece of ass can get it in the shop on the website innit

www.brainloverecords.com/order

May I also say that it's prefect present for weddings, friends, relatives, or cream tea with your granny.

If she's into wild audio shit, like.

Oh and it's

FUCKING FIVE QUID!

FIVE FUCKING QUID!

FREE FUCKING POSTAGE!

HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT FUCKING APPLE?

APPLE?

FIVE FUCKING APPLES.

SERIOUS.

NIGHTSHIFT

ZOMBIE THREAD

BEARSUIT!!

are any of bearsuit on dis?

No idea.

Not that I know of. I only know Lisa. She's very nice on email then it's always a bit funny when we actually meet.

is lisa The Boss?

cos i've spoken to her before, but none of the others. she is the captain

Yes.

She wears he trousers in Bearsuit when it comes to getting gigs and stuff I believe. The bowl cut man seems to carry some kind of musical weight though. This is all guesswork.

My old band once almost supported Bearsuit

but then we split up instead. :(

out of the two

that was probably the wrong choice

I cant decide whether i should buy my own

or just steal steves, i mean thats what cohabiting is all about isn't it?

Steve has one?

I guess that makes sense, but then: why did I just buy one?

He hasn't got one yet

but im sure he's getting one soon, being super vain and all

Steve gets some, he's on the bleedin' thing :D

BUT OTHER PEOPLE SHOULD STILL BUY IT!

Support independent music!

A fiver's not even two pints to you, but lots of fivers means we can do things like this!

It's like being in a union.

The union of magical thinking.

I have listened to

two tracks from this collection and I enjoyed both. All I need to do is mug someone for a fiver and then I'm on this boat John, I really am.

The two songs

in question being the ones by Napoleon III and Applicants. Neither sounded how I expected mind.

are ALL these people on brainlove???!!!

jesus, i didn't know it was that good.
i just bought the napoleon IIIrd vs pagan Wanderer Lu 7" brainlove singles club thing in a little tiny shop on brick lane.
it's well good.from like 2006 i believe.

THere are four bands that are 'on' Brainlove...

The rest are friends, families, lovers, brothers and sisters of the label.

NOT all at the same time.

And 98% of these bands are playing or have played

at the festivals and gigs we've been doing all summer...

are friends of the bride on Brainlove?

they're playing a gig at my uni next term. if all goes well may have to ask many more of your delicious bands to play.

THey are on there, one of their very best too :)

And we should totally do a Brainlove vs YOU night at your uni if you want.

I have just bought this

Considering how I've been lurking around this site for so long now and yet never heard most of these bands that everyone keeps banging on about, it's about time I educated myself.

Right on man.

That's the fuckin' spirit.

:D

It's about 18.5p per song.

I'm not sure I could have justified *not* buying it!

:D

ps

ive bveen listening to this CD over and over. it's amazing. I've nearly plastered all the copies to my ceiling. but not quite.

highlights so far: applicants, ratface, PWL, Cats in Paris, etc etc etc

Hello!

I'm glad you like it. :)

My current favourites are Cats In Paris and Dead Singer but it keeps changing. Last week it was Pseudo Nippon and Friends Of The Bride.

I'd just like to take this opportunity

to thank JB Rainlove for all his support. It's really pleasing to count him amongst our fans as much of the indie world seems to find our stylings a little too.. er... *experimental*. One day they'll see the light. THANKS JOHN!

That's alright BG

I was thinking of changing it to Warholian Godheads R Us Records anyway.

Huw Stephens just played Cats In Paris

And pimped this quite heavily on Radio 1 about two minutes ago, btw.

:D

Wow awesome

<3 Huw.

Replay replay iPlayer

I still get mega-excited about this :D

John_Hughlove

Is there any way that I can get the CD without using paypal?

I don’t use paypal. We have history.

Yeah man.

Cash in a briefcase in locker 869121023 at the bus station.

Um

did he mention their Brighton gig on Friday by any chance? I meant to e-mail him!

I think that he mentioned that they're on tour.

Can't be sure though.

Neither can I!

I want to turn my iPlayer up to 11 and listen!

Whaddya mean not available!

AWSUM

Listening like this -> :D
