What's this? A press release with a nice quote from DiS on it? About Frightened Rabbit? Yes! It goes: "...one of 2008's truly great indie-pop albums." What is? Oh, this.

The Midnight Organ Fight is out now and is, indeed, one of the year's best indie-poppers. Its makers - the three-piece pictured (now swollen to a live four-piece) - are to release a single from it on September 22, via Fat Cat.

‘I Feel Better’ comes backed with The Twist’. Get it, and get along to one of these shows, yeah? Yeah.

belfast

i heard they were going to play belfast on sept 15th but no idea where. anybody know anything ?

Hmmm

That would make sense. Come on, promoters of Belfast...

belfast

where did they play last time ?

Auntie Annie's

:-)

Reading!!!

but no-one plays in Reading

this is a nice suprise

i'll be going to this. does anyone know if sakura (where fez used to be) is still used as a gig venue?

also little_discourage, if you're from reading (and you clearly like idlewild) you might wanna see the race at the rising sun art centre next month - dave eringa produced their new album and they're about the only good band left in reading.

yeah sakura

is doing dj crap like Hed Kandi, i'm not sure if it will do proper gigs like the fez used to.

i'll go to the race at the rising sun gig, the stuff on their myspace seems good.

i've just realised,

i saw them on saturday! my friends band (tripwires) were supporting @ the oakford

i was at that gig too

the oakford is quite nice (if a bit too fashionable for the likes of me).

trip wires were quite good - did they used to be the enigma project or am i imagining this?

what did you think of elle milano? i'm undecided

yeah, they used to be the enigma project

i was outside for most of the fox cubs and elle milano sets as my friends decided to become chain smokers. i'm not too bothered, from what i've previously heard of elle milano they're a wee bit shit.

orange rooms?

southampton?

is that not a club where orange people binge drink?

beachdown

damn ! i was really looking forward to seeing these guys at beachdown in brighton next month and noW i hear they've cancelled. why ? why ? WHY ?

Poor choice of single

I like the whole album, but this isn't one of the ones I'd have chosen, even if it is a double-A

High 5 Rabbits!

Frightened Rabbit in Reading - eeeexcellent! Agreed johnwiddop - mind you, I'd have chosen Keep Yourself Warm - but that would have ruined any chance of airplay. Fingers crossed they get a Mercury nomination tomorrow too.

Should be

Fast Blood

fast blood

was the last single, and they *are* playing beachdown

research

I thought they'd released Good Arms vs Bad Arms before, but apparently the two singles so far have been Heads Roll Off and Fast Blood. So I'd choose that, especially as Good Arms.. was used during a weepy bit of Grey's Anatomy

Aaaaah

OK, sorry about that.

No Leeds?

Damn! I wish I'd gone to see these guys instead of the Hold Steady the other week :o(

their myspace

check their myspace for updates... i think it has a few that are not on here.

cheers

I can't access myspace at work, will have to remember to check when I get home.

No seriously..

Thanks.

Have I just got uncool?
