I don't like the new Last.fm

I prefer to see my top 50 artists rather than my top 15. I know I can access my top 50 easily but I don't like clicking too much. Anyone agree?

Yes

It's utter shit. Infact it's an abomination. Why they have decided to turn it into a facebook/myspace type site is beyond me. I've read many people say that people are only moaning because it's what they do and that they will get used to it, this is wrong. The have taken one of the best sites on the internet and literally destroyed it. They must revert it or they are going to lose so many users.

I've came to like it a bit

though I still hate the way it's basically myfacefook and corporate as fuck.

Piwi, this is for you :D

Yeah

See my post below. I suppose this is what you get when you start complaining before properly investigating.

the events bit

seems a bit annoying to me now.
I previously liked looking at my calendar, and it showing what i was attending and other gigs that were on in my area for bands that i listen to.
but now i either just look at the gigs i'm attending, or separately look at bands 'recommended' to me (which I don't think is fully the same as the bands i listen to? doesn't seem as many anyway).

I now realise my above complaint can be changed

so take it back. Still think it looks just like Facebook.

It's as if they've reverted to an old design or something.

You could imagine them updating this and it looking like the previous design.

Yeah this is rubbish..

They're clearly just trying to turn it into some kind of music-based facebook or something. First of all I would be surprised if the majority of current users want this to happen, secondly I very much doubt if it would ever even work. this sucks.

Maybe they're trying

But I miss the dashboard. You could see real-time listening info for your friends, and it had all your events recommendations, music & video recomendations, inlcuding free mp3s, all on the one page. Now you need to click on each respective tab to to get the same information, and the Friends tab spaces out all people's listening info so you can't just have a quick glance and see what everyone's listening too.

Minor gripes, I know, and I'm sure I'll get used to it and find the new ways of doing things, but it does seem that I spend less time on there then I used to.

Anyways, in an attempt to get into this 'MyFace' way of using it, please add me at http://www.last.fm/user/Adzmusic and we'll see if more connections and stuff helps any...

My main problem with it is

that it's white. it looked better black

Lots of people REALLY don't like it already:

I'm trying to remain open-minded, but like everyone's been saying, it takes too long to do the things you want to do...

i like it

i think it's slightly better

it was so counterintuitive before and lots of bits were added on or not very useful. not that i use the site for much but like, i never knew where to find my friend requests or notice when anyone had sent me a new note...

Aye

I'm finding a lot of the bits I couldn't find :-) The dashboard's still there, when you click back to Home, so I'm hsppy. Your profile now looks much better, customisable artist pictures and all. I think the old hardcore users might not like it for a little while yet, though. But for newcomers, it might be visually a lot more appealing.

personally I'm neutral about it

I don't see any serious complaints about bugs

I like the the enhancements (e.g. charts which update immediately, and the facility to play videos of my fav bands), also

On a separate but related subject, I really like the LastFm free download I just got on my iTouch - I can now chill listening to any of my fav tracks/bands even if they are not on my iTouch and it scrobbles as it plays, it automatically moves onto the next track, and I can be reading the bio, events page of the band at the same time - getting out of bed just got harder, and buying Cds a tiny bit less urgent

For the record, I'm a subscriber, but otherwise unconnected with LastFM/Apple
