Jarvis pens new songs for Wes Anderson movie
Jarvis Cocker is working on new songs for the next film by celebrated director Wes Anderson, reports NME.com.
Anderson is working on an adaptation of Roald Dahl's children's favourite Fantastic Mr Fox, which oddly enough I actually read again for the first time in about 20 years the other week. In about five minutes. Well, it is a kid's book.
Bulldozers, tunnels, badgers, cider: brilliant.
Cocker commented to Time Out Chicago:
"I’ve been doing some stuff for a children’s film Wes Anderson is doing, an animated feature. I’ve written three, four songs, and some of that might become bits of the score."
Anderson's last film, The Darjeeling Limited, was apparently pretty good. I'm up to speed on Mr Fox, but am yet to see this particular flick. Any good?

does it also mean that he's not collaborating with Mark Mothersbaugh at all now? Wes Anderson films don't even seem like Wes Anderson films without Mark Mothersbaugh scores behind them. :(
I'm all for change, and everything, BUT SERIOUSLY WES. Stop fannying about and make another Rushmore/Royal Tenenbaums/Life Aquatic plz ok? His films were so definitive until The Darjeeling Limited and I really don't condone him experimenting like this. DON'T BREAK WHAT INT BROKED, KNOW WHAT I MEANS?

Darljeeling Ltd is an amazing movie, his best I would say and I like his earlier ones a lot.. and also Wes Anderson does Fantastic Mr. Fox : - ) : - ) all smiles for me!

But only to one of the southern states, no where near the real big cities.
Can't recommend it enough. Had a great time and the locals were really lovely by and large.
