or not? flourescent adolescent is merely a rewrite of mardy bum, ditto 'the only ones who know' and 'riot van' (apart from the admittedly brilliant lyrics), 'brianstorm' has the same riff as 'when the sun goes down' ... and tracks 8-11 are simply tedious. this has been botherin me for quite some time as i've lost count of the amount of people i've heard making the ridiculous assertion that it's a better album than their first

The first album's massively overrated too.
name a band
who made a record that doesn't sound a bit like their previous record. the music on the second album is much better, not so much like embarrassing brit-pop. 8-11 aren't tedious, old yellow bricks is the least tedious thing they've done, a banger. people say the second album is better because it is.

how much I love this album...definitely one of my favourites ever. I know it's not brilliant or something, but I think that it's quite innovate actually. Especially when compared to their debut. So that's why I think it is better ^^ But it's rather difficult to explain why you love something right? So I guess I'm already biased just because I love it so much (even The Bad Thing).
