I'm back from Uni, and work has been less than plentiful. I had 5 weeks temp work, but am now back in the depressing merry-go-round of going into uninterested agencies.

I've found three in two months. I'd normally spot at least five a week. I tried explaining to my friends that it's because there's a recession on the way. They think i'm a bullshitting lazy bastard.

I was told my temporary assignmet would be extended.
Then let go a week later, meaning I'd lost the other job I had lined up. I'm pretty sure my fellow temp and I were let go as we appeared to be having too much of a good time.

do they normally tell you you havent got it? I had an interview awhile ago and still havent heard, im an all eggs in one basket kinda person and am only capable of applying to one job at a time
they don't usually tell you...
...if you don't hear then it's usually that you haven't been chosen. maybe drop them an e-mail....
How do people find jobs?
Everytime I see one I read the job description and hear voices in my head telling me I'd be incompetent.

Go to any office or company and a huge poportion of the employees to fuck all, they've just been there a long time. In most careers you can get away with doing less than you should for more than you deserve. I went to the job centre the other day because i'm really not finding anything. They agreed to let me see a woman and we went through the types of jobs that i'd be looking at on a computer. She was barely awake, couldn't type, spell, even write properly. Every one of her collegues who walked past or spoke to me gave me the 'she's on another planet' eyes. I imagine she gets paid quite handsomely, a lot of JC staff do. There's nothing about her job that i couldn't do. I mean, i wouldn't do it, but if i had toi don't see how i'd struggle. She's probably got a mortgage, and a car, and some savings at least, she just walked into a job and daydreamed for a few years.
