I don't feel the urge to deconstruct it or weigh up whether they were trying too hard. I just think it looks great because it's bright, colourful, intersting and there's lots going on, whereas I think the last Hard-Fi was shit because it looked rubbish. Simple, innit.
They're such a dreadful band now but this artwork... it screams "we want to be taken seriously as a 'classic' artist".
Dear oh dear. What's more depressing is we're going to have to get ready to read interviews with the Gallaghers every other day again, with the press taking their "wit and wisdom" alternatively as "telling it like it is" or showing the rapier wit of the finest of comedians.
on how oasis arent about to 'do a radiohead' that went along the lines of "i'm not working in the most expensive studio in the country and with the most expensive graphic designer in london to give this away"... THAT'S what the most expensive graphic designer in london had offer?
I hate to be reply so predictably,
but it's like graphical excrement
"i hate to be reply"???
i need sleep...
I think I'd have enjoyed clicking on that more
if it was a rick roll
:D
At least they've set themselves a low standard for the music to live up to.
i like it
but it's a dreadful name for an album.
Is this 1967?
They spelt yr wrong.
They spelt yr wrong.
Not hillarious to deserve
posting it twice.
hilarious
...
A Radiohead style blizzard of imagery collage. I like it.
However, I don't think it was a good idea to let Liam do it himself...

:D
the kids got style
Looking forward to hearing the album very much.
See also: Kasabian's.
^^^Possibly my least cool post of all time?^^^

Among many others.
Looks like Why?
looks great
i'm a bit worried that the artwork will be more exciting than the album itself, though
I'm no art critic

I'm sorry,
but it just doesn't look great. What about that is great?
...
It does kinda look like a child's version of a Radiohead cover. Or more like a teenager's - it's trying hard, but it's pretty obvious...
I actually think that looks cool..
if it was anyone else people on here would obvs like it. though clearly it will be a shit album.
it will be like the inverse of in rainbows, which has shit artwork but was a good record.
I pissed myself when I saw it

You don't have to get ready to read anything...
...if you don't like em, don't read the interviews. Pretty simple really.
i read a quote from noel gallagher recently
on how oasis arent about to 'do a radiohead' that went along the lines of "i'm not working in the most expensive studio in the country and with the most expensive graphic designer in london to give this away"... THAT'S what the most expensive graphic designer in london had offer?
i'd get your money back, noel.
HA YEah god
the sorta nod to the BE HERE NOW clock being blown up in smokes a nice touch.
everytime oasis gear up to release new album
i get REALLY excited. thinking that possibly they'll come back with brilliant tunes. but im always dissapointed.
even though i know i'll be dissapointed once again. im still excited.
