rly?

I should try that.

I have a 'friend' on Facebook..

..who posted a note asking why when she put the capo on her guitar, the pitch got higher.

She was, SERIOUSLY, asking if she should retune it.

My god, i wanted to virtually slap the girl.

I dnt want to sound dumb but

ive never been taught anything about Capos, and just plonk it on and play!

when i put one on my fret,am i ment to re-tune the guitar?? coz when i strummed each string they were not the EADGBE!
but wrong notes,am i ment to carry on playing even though messed up, and surely if the capo is sitting on the fretboard whilst tuning it wont tune correctly anyways, and therefore have to take the capo off to re-tune maybe????

thank you!

maybe

she bought one because her hands are too small for the neck length of her guitar, then detuning it would make sense

Look at how she types.

Somehow, i don't think so.

I did kind of let her off though,

since she wasn't taught anything about them.
